Tubular Products of ILJIN’s DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) Tubing is manufactured to ASTM A513, EN 10305-2,

JIS G3445 E-C Specifications. DOM Tubing has superior concentricity and a high degree of uniformity in wall

thickness. This is not necessarily true of seamless tubing, because starting shell dimensions are not as

consistent as ERW tubing. Greater strength may also be obtained by the use of HSLA material.

Hydraulic Cylinder Tube with special smooth inside diameter (SSID) is ready to use and is oiled with the inside

and outside of the tubes. Tolerances on inside diameter is ISO H9 and roughness is Ra 0.8㎛ Max.

ID finish and tolerance are similar to that obtained in a conventional honing process thus avoiding or minimizing

the costly honing process normally followed for such application.

■ Telescopic Cylinder Tubes

▶ Technical Characteristics

7

Telescopic cylinders are a special design of a hydraulic cylinder or pneumatic cylinder which provide an

exceptionally long output travel from a very compact retracted length. Typically the collapsed length of a

telescopic cylinder is 20 to 40% of the fully extended length depending on the number of stages. Some

pneumatic telescoping units are manufactured with retracted lengths of under 15% of overall extended unit

length. This feature is very attractive to machine design engineers when a conventional single stage rod style

actuator will not fit in an application to produce the required output stroke.

A cylinder rod is typically a hard chrome-plated piece of cold-finished steel which operates both inside and

outside the cylinder barrel. This means that it must also operate within and outside of the hydraulic fluid. The

cylinder rod attaches to the piston and extends from the cylinder through the rod-end head, and connects the

working component within the machine to its hydraulic actuator.

Cold Drawn Seamless tubing (also known as CDS) is most often used in hydraulics, CDS is used to make

hollowed cylinder barrels and rods. Seamless heavy walled tubes are also popular for large bore, heavy walled,

high pressure hydraulic cylinders.

Chemical composition and manufacturing process have been optimized in order to comply with the most

severe conditions of hydraulic cylinder applications.

- Fatigue life

- Working pressure

- Low temperature toughness

Ready to SRB (Skiving and Roller Burnishing) tube is widely used in hydraulic cylinder industries. i.e. textile

machines, engineering machines, construction vehicles, etc.
