Date: November 7th, 2019 To: ASI BOD From: Lucille Yu
Meetings/Committee(s): I. SOI II. F&O
Current Projects: • There was an abundance of food donated to the Poly Pantry during our “Give a Treat, Get a
Treat” fundraiser. I was looking at videos of them unloading the food and from what it looked like, they filled the entire Poly Pantry. I have heard from many of our Club Executive Board and HRT students that it was a very rewarding fundraiser and a great way to mix Halloween fun and philanthropic work. It was nice to work with HMC on this project because we were taking another step to reaching out Basic Needs goal with food insecurity on campus.
Continuing Projects: • Getting a student voice into the Collins College Board of Advisors meetings. According to our
Dean students are not allowed into those meetings. Our next step is to sit down with our Dean and simply ask questions as to why that is the rule.
Upcoming Events/Reminders: • Speed Networking Event with our Board of Advisors: November 14th
• Last HMC meeting of the semester on November 19th
Fun Fact: • One of our alumni Chuck Choi, class of 2016, was chosen to rap onstage with Carrie Underwood
for her Boston concert! Carrie Underwood asked her fans to send her a video of themselves telling her a story of a champion moment. Chuck sent one in and spoke about how when he moved from Korea to the U.S. he learned English by listening to Eminem.
