Modern Dental Office / Spring 2015

“CAPITOL SMILES”

WASHINGTON DC

Capitol Smiles, located in the heart of Washington D.C. off the National Mall, will focus on creating a private and comfortable space for our nation’s most watched to be ensured a brighter and whiter smile that serves as a comfort to those who they represent. Circulation was of the utmost importance in this setting, so that privacy was at the center of the design solution for security and confidentiality of each guest who enters. A clean, modern design allows for the cleanliness a dental office needs, with the relaxing characteristics clients desire.

The Better Business Bureau of Oklahoma City Project was intended to have a focal on lighting and its incorporation into design. The lighting in this space was aimed at providing linear recessed pendants to allow for way finding and employ visual interest as a spine of the building, while also incorporating adjustable cylinder down lighting for focal lights to highlight the artwork of local artists that will be displayed throughout the space. Clean lines reflect a concept of simplicity, while dramatic spotlights will allow the artwork to speak for itself.

For gear to work, the teeth must rotate and fit together perfectly. Just as parts of gears

and machinery work together and each serve a purpose, team members must also function with dynamic that allow creativity

and thoughts to be produced. The DYNAMICS Ad Agency will be focused

around the conceptual idea of the dynamics of clock gears.

Collaboration and group critique centers are spread without the space, with areas to relax and regenerate between projects in order to ensure each employee knows he or she has a specific purpose and is needed for the company. Meeting spaces and offices with glass paneling allow for open door and open minded policies to inspire employees to function, move and create.

Furniture Mimic Build / Spring 2015

“LCW” INSPIRED NIGHTSTAND

For a furniture design studio, the project goal was to mimic a famous chair and turn it into

another type of furniture. Based off of the Eames Molded Plywood Chair, or the LCW,

the nightstand was built to emulate the plywood structure combined with the

ergonomic ability to form to the human body, whereas the live edge drawer front

molds to the hand.

“where East Meets West”

Sooner Mall Restaurant Project / Spring 2016

The Sawadee Restaurant in Norman, Oklahoma will create a unique and inviting dining experience in

Sooner Mall, giving not only a destination to the community, but also illustrating a culture other than the

normal. The space will focus on community gathering and finding one’s center as in the Buddhist lifestyle. The circulation will follow this same concept, creating way

finding and a flow of traffic through dining areas with a central focus on a circular bar, allowing many to come

to Sawadee to gather as one to enjoy company as well as a leisurely retreat to dine.
