AGRA NEWSJanuary 2014
Hello,
The past few weeks have been an eventful and exciting time at AGRA. At the
beginning of September we co-hosted the African Green Revolution Forum
(AGRF) in Maputo, at which we launched our inaugural Africa Agriculture
Status Report. At the Forum we also unveiled a new high-impact and
aesthetically appealing corporate video to promote AGRA`s work.
This year's AGRF brought together over 250 heads of state, policymakers,
business leaders, NGOs and other stakeholders to discuss public-private
partnerships and innovative financing in agriculture. In its closing statement,
the Forum highlighted how the green revolution in Africa cannot proceed
without a major leap forward in financing for agricultural production. Next
year - declared the Year of Agriculture and Food Security by AU African Heads
of State - will be critical, and AGRA will continue to work with all relevant
partners and actors to ensure that the continent moves closer to a green
revolution.
