AFRICAN EXCHANGE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR is the biggest Africa annual regional conference, of AIESEC in which members of this youth run organization from Africa and abroad come together to build common strategies, develop their leadership tools, discuss issues relevant for their communities, improve their operational strategies, and enjoy their time in this unique event. This year AFROXLDS 2013 will start from 23rd March to 29th March 2013 in Addis Ababa, ETHIOPIA.

Objectives - Promotion of youth entrepreneurship and internationalism - International cooperation for professional opportunities in Africa - Contact between young people and business sector - Experience different cultures of every continent

Delegate Fee: 150 USD=2762 ET Birrs (per person) Damage Fee: 20 USD=369 ET Birrs (per person, will be reimbursed to your country if no damage is done) Late Registration Penalty: 50 USD=921 ET Birrs (for registrations submitted after 23:59 GMT on 8th March) Post study Tour: 50 USD=1841 ET Birrs (per person)

Each delegate, whose application has been approved by AI, shall also be liable to paya cancellation fee of 170 USD if they fail to turn up for the conference. This penalty however will not be applicable if the delegation replaces the delegate with another delegate from the same country and AI approves the replacement delegate.

If you have any doubt about list confirmation, please contact your MCP, the list of approved delegates will be sent to the representative MC’s 2 weeks before the conference, to finalize the payments to the heads of delegation.

IMPORTANT: All payments to the CC bank account can be made in dollars (USD) or in Ethiopian Birrs (ET Birrs) only. You are encouraged to transfer your delegate and damaged fees to the CC bank account ahead of time to ease registration & check-in Thus; $170 or 3130ET Birrs respectively. Conversion rate (1USD = 18.407 ET Birrs)

Please ensure that you include an additional 0.25% to the amount you send, to cover the bank transfercosts, hence each delegate should make a total transfer of 207.5USD or 5976.905ET Birrs. When you have transferred the funds, please send a copy of the receipt to [email protected] (CCVP Finance) you can send a mail for further enquiries if you have any doubts. Subject: AfroXLDS delegate fees, [Country] [Invoice number]

All bank transfers should be done by March 20th 2013. If you plan to pay after that, please give your fees to your assigned country delegate head in USD Dollars at check-in for you this can be in USD or Ethiopia Birr. There is no ATM or currency exchange facility at the conference venue, the nearest one is a 30 minute drive away.

This main venue where delegates will be accommodated and where sessions, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be delivered. Parties will also be held at the same venue.

The AIESEC AFRICAN EXCHANGE LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR will take place on AKAKI Campus in Addis Abeba. Akaki Campus is the new and re-designed campus of Addis Ababa University.

It is the official opening of the biggest African event. (number)+ young delegates from all of the world. Leaders, General and global partners. It is the first time during the Congress when the huge international youth community meet with leaders of Ethiopian business and society.

Global Village Are you proud of your country? Do you think it has a lot to show? Is the food in your country the best in the world? Then prove it! We are giving you the chance to showcase your country to the (number)+ visitors of African Union at the traditional Global Village at AIESEC international conferences.With your participation, we'll be able to gather 30+ countries and show the best they have to offer. In addition, we will also create an international atmosphere with exhibitions, workshops and performances.

IMPORTANT!While you're packing your bags you should remember some things: • make sure to bring enough materials - we invited the whole city of Addis Ababa • be creative in how you can set up your spots • try to come up with some cool ways to interact with the visitors

Date: 23rd of March,Dress code: Formal Description: It will be a way of joining the business world to youth, by having workshops around different relevant themes, and it will be facilitated by companies which are partners of the conference. This event will be an opportunity to interact with other youth that are not in AIESEC because Ethiopian Youth will also be part.

GALA DINNER

Date: 28th of March, Dress code: Black Tie Event / Cocktail Dress / Ethiopian WearDescription: we will have the official Closing Ceremony as part of the Gala Dinner. It will be a night of celebrating successes by acknowledging countries and closing AfroXLDS.Gala Dinner will take place in Kuriftu Debre Zeit, A speck on the map of southeastern Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Kuriftu resort DZ is an escapist fantasy, with fabulous weather all year round, breathtaking crater lake (Lake Kuriftu) and classic paradise setting you could possibly want, and then some. It looks out onto a lake with a two-mile across Mountain View.

Delegates from countries that do not have Ethiopian Embassies or consulate and delegates from Europe and Asia can get VISA on arrival at the Ethiopian Air port (Bole Airport) but for you to get the VISA on arrival please insure you have the follow: Ethiopia Immigration authorization document sent to by the CC delegates servicing responsible, For you to get the authorization document kindly insure you send a copy of your passport [email protected] and [email protected] A valid International Passport , 2 passport size photo, AFROXLDs 2013 invitation letter. VISA fee, 20 Euros.

POST STUDY TOUR

Date: After the study tourDescription: After the study tour, delegates have the option to visit lake Babogaya and Lalibela ought. CC can just provide informational support. Especially for Lalibela ought, delegates will take flights to join there on their own.

The request for an ENTRY VISA to Ethiopia can be made at the Ethiopian embassy or consulate. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Ethiopia has one telecommunication service, Ethio-telecom on this note on your arrival to Ethiopia it is most probably that you don’t get network access unless your phone is on roaming and this will be the case for some phone. Also Ethiopian SIM cards are not easily purchased at the airport, but you will be provided with Ethiopian SIM cards on arrival to the airport and upon demand.Hence kindly insure that you submit all your arrival before departing from your country. COMMUNICATION

Currently Ethiopia is between the dry and autumn season, it is warm in the day time , and cold in the evening and night hours hence advice to come with warm clothes for the evening and night hours and normal cloths for the day time .

Also there might be very seasonal shower during this time especially in the mornings hence its best to come with an umbrella just for precaution reasons.

On arrival to the AIRPORT a Yellow Fever vaccination certificatewill be required hence insure you have it before departure.As a delegate for AFROXLDs kindly insure that you have your health insurance. Cause the CC cannot provide unfortunately the health insurance at arrival.
