3o Premium Day: Congreso Internacional de implanto-prótesis

integrada Sweden & Martina: tradition and new technologies towards excellence

As in previous editions, the Premium Day congress is destined once again to offer an important opportunity for professional training and development for all dental sector operators, with its scientific sessions dedicated to dental practitioners, technicians and hygienists.

The pre-congress courses to be held on 30th June will be devoted both to dentists, with the two outstanding speakers Sidney Kina and Ignazio Loi, and to dental technicians, with an interesting contribution from Antonello Di Felice, not-to-be-missed opportunities to explore the themes that will be discussed later during the congress itself.

On Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd July, leading Spanish and international experts in implant prosthodontics will share their experiences with the congress participants, analyzing various treatment options according to their specializations. The lectures on Saturday will be dedicated to B.O.P.T. performed on both natural elements and implants, through to PRAMA implant, the logical evolution of these concepts.

More in general, ample space will be devoted to the possibilities effectively offered by new digital technologies, with a special focus on image-guided surgery techniques. Discussions will cover all aspects of clinical practice, the illustration of new implant morphologies and new approaches to conventional treatment protocols, in line with the innovative policy always pursued by Sweden & Martina in its research and development activities for new products.

In parallel with the scientific sessions, a space for practical demonstrations will also be available, where dentists will have free access to Sweden & Martina products for hands-on trials with our implants and surgical instruments, providing a unique opportunity to directly discover the exceptional quality and ease of use of Sweden & Martina systems. We look forward to welcoming you!

Gala Dinner

The Gala Dinner will be held at the L’Hemisfèric on Friday 1st July at 9.30 pm, a unique opportunity not only to enjoy a splendid meal organized by caterers El Alto in one of Valencia’s most characteristic venues, but also to meet congress participants, speakers and guests and the company staff. The City of Arts and Sciences, without doubt the city’s most modern and avant-garde area, is an impressive tribute to science, technology and nature.

The L’Hemisfèric, designed by Santiago Calatrava, is a very particular and at the same time spectacular building, portraying an enormous human eye, the “Eye of Wisdom”. This element represents the vision and observation of the world that visitors can discover with extraordinary audiovisual projections.

It was the first building of the City of Arts and Sciences, and was opened to the public on 16th April 1998.

Its distinctive ovoid roof is over 100 metres long, and inside it is a huge sphere containing a projection room. The elliptical “Carl Sagan” perimeter ring of the L’Hemisfèric, dedicated to the great American astronomical communicator, surrounds the sphere of the projection room, which is protected by the building’s massive roof. An artificial lake of 24,000 square metres around the structure completes a complex of remarkable architectural beauty.

The winners of the CALL FOR POSTERS and CALL FOR VIDEOS competitions will be awarded their prizes during the Gala Dinner.

History, culture, art, science and sport: this is Valencia

With 786,424 inhabitants, Valencia is Spain’s third largest city and metropolitan area, after Madrid and Barcelona. It was founded as the Roman colony “Valentia Edetanorum” in 138 BC, under the consul Decimus Junius Brutus Callaicus. Several centuries later, in 711, it was occupied by the Muslims, who brought with them their language, religion and traditions, such as the creation of irrigation systems and the introduction of new crops.

In 1238, the Christian king James I of Aragon reconquered the city and divided its land between the nobles who had helped him in his struggle, as demonstrated by the “Furs of Valencia” laws, which were later extended to the rest of the Kingdom of Valencia. The city is situated on the banks of the River Turia, on the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula and facing onto the Gulf of Valencia, even though when it was first founded by the Romans it stood on an island in the river, around four kilometres from the sea.

About ten kilometres south of Valencia is the Albufera lagoon, owned by the city authorities since 1911, when it was bought from the Spanish Crown for 1,072,980.41 pesetas. The Albufera is one of Spain’s largest lakes, with a surface area of around 21 square kilometres, to which 141 square kilometres of wetlands where rice is grown must be added. Given its great cultural, historical and ecological value, the Albufera was the first nature park to be declared by the Generalitat Valenciana in 1986.

Valencia’s city centre of some 1.7 square kilometres is one of Spain’s biggest, with a historical and monumental heritage and abundance of scenic and cultural spaces that make it one of the country’s leading destinations for Spanish and international tourists.

Architectural attractions include the Cathedral and its Miguelete tower, the Serrano Towers and the Quart Towers, the Silk Exchange, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, and the City of Arts and Sciences. The Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia is the city’s main art gallery and is one of Spain’s most important, together with the IVAM Valencian Institute of Modern Art, dedicated to the study and diffusion of modern and contemporary art.

Countless centuries of history have endowed Valencia with a wealth of celebrations and traditions, amongst which are the Fallas, declared a festival of international touristic interest in 1965, and the Tribunal of Waters, declared part of the world’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2009. Valencia has been and continues to be the setting for many events of worldwide significance that have helped to model the city, bringing it international fame, like the Regional Exhibition of 1909, the 32nd and 33rd editions of the America’s Cup yacht races, European Formula One Grand Prix races, the Open 500 tennis tournaments, and the Global Champions showjumping tour.
