Instructor Profile

JENNIE TATE

One of our newest instructors to the MAC is Jennie Tate. She currently teaches the YogaFit and Restorative Back yoga classes. Jennie grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico and moved to Texas to

attend college at Texas Women’s University. After graduating with a BS in Recreation Therapy and an MS in Physical Education, she went to work for the Dallas Veteran’s Medical Center where she had the privilege of working in rehab with veterans with disabilities for 28 years. Jennie says, “I am proud to have served the veterans that have served our country.” She became a certified instructor and began teaching step aerobics, circuit classes,

kickboxing, ZUMBA, and yoga classes for hospital staff as a volunteer at the hospital’s Wellness Center. In 2010 she transferred to the Fort Worth Out-patient Clinic and now teaches various yoga classes such as YogaFit, Yoga-Pilates, chair yoga, and her most popular class, yoga for backs. Her experience with veterans with disabilities has given her the ability and experience to adapt and modify many of the poses to suit clients’ needs. “Many people have back, joint, and other health problems. Yoga has improved their flexibility, pain, and overall quality of life.” Jennie has been married for 10 years, has two wonderful grown stepchildren and four adorable grandchildren ages 2, 4, 5, and 7. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoys bicycling on her Co-motion Tandem, bicycle built for two, with her husband and singing in the church choir. “Come join me in a wellness class at the MAC.”
