Overhead electrificationSTRABAG Rail Fahrleitungen GmbH, a specialist in the installation and construction of overhead electrification equipment for long-distance rail lines, is a certified Q1 supplier and full-range service provider for the planning, installation and maintenance of standard Deut-sche Bahn overhead electrification systems.

In addition to carrying out the planning and structural calculations, we also lay foundations, erect masts, string the contact and catenary wires, assemble the catenary systems, and install the earthing, local control and tension testing systems.

With a team of qualified employees and a high level of competence in overhead installati-ons, STRABAG Rail has helped drive a number of new developments in this field, e.g. a measuring system to map and record the position of the contact wire (ELDIS II) and software to calculate cantilevers and droppers für mechanical prefabrication (PROLIS). Additionally, a pile driving technique developed in-house was awarded certification from Deutsche Bahn.

Our more than 60 years of experience in the planning and installation of overhead lines for trams, urban rail, industrial railways and rapid transit systems makes us a valued and competent partner.

Switch manufacturingOur rail switch factory produces switches and switch components for all conventional rail profiles (Vignoles and grooved rails) for all gauges, including mixed-gauge, up to a radius of 500 m.
