THE FORESTER, Wednesday, September 30, 2009 A19 Obituaries The death occurred of Anita Laurena Davidson, 91, on Sept. 24, 2009 at Fairvern Nursing Home. The deceased was born on Aug. 25, 1918 in St. Catharines, Ontario. She mar- ried Colin “Coke” John Davidson on March 22, 1949 in St. Catharines. Her husband predeceased her. Mrs. Davidson is survived by Sharon (Graham) Sowrey, Sandra (Dan) Sauve, Jeff (Lynn) Sowrey, Ryan (Sarah) Sowrey, Meagan (Josh George) Sauve, Ben Sow- rey, Lily Sowrey and Jack Sowrey. Mrs. Davidson was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing euchre and cribbage, bowling (was treasurer of the Thursday night ladies’ league), and was a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, and Hamilton Tiger Cats. She also was a great cook and loved gardening. Arrangements entrusted to Billingsley Funeral Home. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines. Memorial gifts to the Friends of Fairvern, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 138, St. Catharines, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Davidson, Anita Laurena The death occurred of Clarence (Cliff) Alfred Ruff, 84, on Sept. 10, 2009 in Hunts- ville. The deceased was born in Sudbury, Ontario on March 28, 1925, the son of the late John A. and Nettie M. (Brady) Ruff. He married Sally Elizabeth Slatter on Dec. 24, 1946 in Huntsville. Left to mourn his passing are his chil- dren Dianne (Stephen) McGary, John (Lynn) Ruff, Lori (Jeff) Wilks and Patrick (Leasa) Ruff; grandchildren Sara (Geoff) White, Robyn (Troy Short) McGary, Julee McGary, Justin Ruff, Joshua (Crystal) Ruff, Ariel Ruff and Kylie Wilks and great-grandchildren Hailey, Joshtin and Josh-Lynn Ruff. Cliff was predeceased by his wife Sally and brother Edward John Ruff. Cliff was a veteran of the Second World War, serving as a Royal Canadian mechanical engineer and sharpshooter. After his service, he worked at the Falconbridge Nickel Mines until he moved his family to Huntsville in 1964. He retired from the Canusa Division of Shaw Industries Ltd., where he was employed in the maintenance department. Cliff led a full life. He was a hard worker, a great practical joker, a soldier, a hunter, a prospector, a logger, a developer, a builder, a mechanic, a welder, a father, a grandfather and a great-grandfather. He will always be remembered for his never-ending love of his wife, Sally. Funeral service was conducted by Reverend Jolyn Campbell in the Addison Chapel at Mitchell Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at 1 p.m. Interment followed at the Locks Cemetery. Pallbearers were John and Patrick Ruff, Stephen McGary, Jeff Wilks, Justin and Joshua Ruff. The death occurred of Anita Laurena Davidson, 91, on Sept. 24, 2009 at Fairvern Nursing Home.
