The memory of four years spent at a school is at first made up of many vivid details. We are cer-

tain that we shall never forget, — the four minute foot races between classes. .

.

— the crunching of snow under our boots. . .

or the pushing and shoving of the outdoor cons.

The rough stone... the polished wood... the trampled walkways...

this is the physical campus, but not the soul. That is the individual.

Ponds, streets and school all rolled into one complete student life.

Ferris started off with a new coach and

needed only spirit and determination

to have a winning season. The team

provided the spirit and it was evident

that all of the games were played with

great determ ination . Ferris beat North

Central and made every game exciting

and full of action. Every player on the

football squad played with great courage.

No gome is ever won until the last seconds

are played out, and all of the other high

school teams in the city knew that Ferris

is never a "farm club. " Don Jones was

awarded a berth on the All-City second

team. He was an outstanding player all

season.

Key to the Future

Key Club is starting its fourth dramatic year

at Ferris. This worthwhile club is an all

boys service organization sponsored by the

southside Kiwanis. Some of the projects

include the Canned Food and Paperback

Book Drives. Tradition is being set at Ferris

with the annual Key Heart Dance where

Pam Hogsett was crowned Key Heort Queen.

Every Courtsey girl not only memorized the

motto-"They are always there to help"-

but she practices it. This year Ferris students

and their visitors are forever seeing these

Courtesy girls with their bright, smiling

faces. They ore always helping out at

such various activities as school plays,

concerts, office jobs, and P.T.A. events.

A Courtsey girl truly does live the Motto.

Students Seek Future in Education

Future Teachers of America is composedof students interested in teaching of any

kind. Its purpose is to give the membersan idea of what a teaching career would

be like. Possibly their most valuable ex-

perience is observing and sometimes teach-

ing at Adams grade school. F.T.A. mem-bers can also be found assisting--doing

bulletins and correcting papers for Ferris

teachers.

District and regional conventions are held

annually at a Washington University or

college campus where different speakers

inform the organization. The F.T.A. also

observes other systems of teaching. Their

final goal is a scholarship.

After We are all Gone

Friendship will Still Live On

International Club is the club for enthus-

iastic, enthusiasts of the world languages.

This club at each meeting takes various

magic trips around the world to study

world cultures.

Are you looking for something different?

Why not try the Latin Club? These college

bound students give reports on ancient

cultures to one another. And the

excitement really begins around December

in the annual Saturnalia celebration. If

you don't know what a Saturnalia is why

not join the Latin Club and see?

Juniors Attain

Goals

The Junior Con featured the exciting

episode of how agent 69 battles the evil

organization of ICECUBE. Louise La-

Flesche, world's famous atomic physicist

has been kidnapped by Snowman, the top

man of ICECUBE. The excitement con-

tinues when Tasti Delight tries to stop

69 with the help of agent 74. Various plots

made the Con very successful

A THOUSAND

CONGRATULATIONS! !!

Count them if you like. They come from your

thousand friends-the people who make up the

Washington Water Power family.

A year, ten years, maybe thirty years ago,

each of us passed the milestone you have reached.

For us it preceded our entry into the world of

private business and public service.

Our careers have, for the most part, been

constructive and satisfying.

We sincerely wish as much for the graduates

of 1968!
