What does SendGrid do?Built on SoftLayer, SendGrid is a very high scale custom-built, cloud-based email service that delivers email on behalf of companies like Pinterest and Spotify to increase deliverability and drive engagement. SendGrid sends to over 800M unique email addresses per month to virtually every country on the planet.
SendGrid offers a Twitter-like scalable email infrastructure, provides metrics on outgoing email, and handles the time consuming tasks involved with implementing unsubscribe links, bounces and spam complaints. Integration with new or existing email systems is done via SMTP or through a REST API.
The company was incorporated in 2009 and has offices in California, Colorado, Rhode Island and Romania.
