Art Studio Rules

Ms. Cazares Fall 2014

+Nine Important Things Worksheet Let us get to know you better visually!

What are the Nine Most Important things to you?

What do you cherish or enjoy doing?

Illustrate these nine things on the grid provided!

Get creative! Add pizazz to your words as well!

Get colorful! I do not want to see just pencil sketches!

+ What is an Art Studio?

The Art Studio is a haven for creativity. It is a dedicated space one uses to create art and promote experimentation!

The studio should be a calm and productive space for all!

Personal studios can be big or small, but should be kept neat and tidy!

Here are some rules you must follow when using the Rancho Studio.

+Ninja Entrance (Enter Quietly!) Please end all conversations at the door.

Look for instructions on the board or projector. Follow directions carefully.

Warm Up Activities: First 5 minutes of class will be dedicated to a warm up activity. Please use this class time wisely and if you finish early, take out a reading book.

If you are late, quietly take your seat and do not make a scene.

+Raise HandPlease stay in your seat and raise your hand if you have a response, question or concern.

DO NOT shout out or get out of your seat.

Your question is invisible unless you are in your seat with your hand up!

+Follow Directions (And Rubrics!) Depending on the class and project,

there will be different directions. Please follow all new rules and directions.

Please read EVERYTHING that is written on a worksheet or packet.

When you enter the class, check the board for the warm up activity or specific directions.

Before asking “what grade will this get” review the Grading Rubric for the project (will be passed out with ALL projects!)

+Be SweetIf you can’t say something nice, don’t say it at all!

No Gossip! We only speak Art in here!

Be respectful of those around you. Keep conversations appropriate!

Never put anyone down or make a rude comment about their artwork!

Just be nice! Treat people the way you like to be treated!

+Imagine & Create Your artwork belongs to and is an

extension of you!

Make it meaningful and treat it with the respect you show yourself!

I will show you HOW to make things, but I will not TELL you what you have to create. Follow the rubrics, but show your voice!

There are no such things as mistakes in art! There are always ways to rework and fix! No do-overs!

+Volume Control

NEVER yell across the classroom!

Keep your volume appropriate. Use inside voices please.

During studio time, keep conversations at a whisper.

+Sparkling Clean Up

Follow all specific clean up rules.

Make sure your area is clean: Table, Floor and Chairs.

Keep out sinks and trash areas neat and tidy!

Properly put away your materials where they belong.
