Configuring your mail agent

• Usually you need to provide your mail agent with some information, such as the name of your mail delivery agent, your user name and password, etc.

• Most Student accounts are filled out

• To see your settings Tools -> Email Accounts-> view or change existing

accounts

• Tools -> Email Accounts-> view or change existing accounts

Backup and Private Mail Data Flow

• 1) Backup data to your machine

• 2)Add Personal Folder *.PST files User PC running

Backup data to your machine

• File -> Import Export->• export to a file-> • personal folder File (PST)• Select folder to export

– Entire mailbox or part

• Browse to backup filename in a permanent disk location controlled by you (H drive)

Add your “Backup” file as a personal folder

• On the File menu, point to New, and then click Outlook Data File

• Select outlook 2003 or 97 to 2002 compatible file• Browse to your “backup” file• Give it the name “backup”
