Common Capabilities

Page 15: Internet of Everything (IOE) Connected Border Solutions Overview

Cisco Public 15 © 2014 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.

Event 1 – Low Threat – Scenario: Humanitarian beacon activated, request for help. Agent dispatched.

– Result: Agent moved between 4G LTE and MANET coverage while maintaining voice, video, and position comms. No user intervention required.

Event 2 – Moderate Threat – Scenario: Surveillance camera detects movement. Nearby cameras slewed automatically to

assess. Two agents dispatched.

– Result: Real-time monitoring of fixed cameras and agents’ voice, video, and position showing progress of entire event. Dispatch and field agents share same situational awareness through common operating picture.

Event 3 – High Threat – Scenario: Hidden sensor detects movement. No other information available. Two agents

dispatched. Agents forced to split up. ATV agent travels into no comms coverage area – high risk.

– Result: Real-time monitoring and comms fail to ATV agent. Agent from Event 1 sent to assist and reestablished comms. Event 1 agent moves within MANET range of ATV agent to dynamically extends coverage and mitigate risk.
