A loving family man …

…whose house and heart were always open…

…to everybody.

We remember…

…hiking up to the waterfall and not being able to keep up with him…

…camping at Libby Reservoir with the Mellem clan, who never seem to notice the weather…

…visiting all the cultural sites in Yack, Montana:

…taking in the nightlife of Libby after dark…

* Al’s the one in the middle.

…waking up hoping that Al had the fire going…

…on Christmas morning… so completely snowed-in that even with skis on, I

sank down to my waist.

Never knowing

where he

would appear next…

Making the desert bloom and the prairie grow…

Working, working, working. Always a project in the garden, shed or woodpile…

…well, almost always…
