Rejoicing in the eternal Gospel of salvation and its message of life and hope, let us pray for ourselves, for the Church in every place and for the confession of the truth of God’s Word throughout all the world. God of grace and glory, we give You thanks for the comfort of the Gospel restored to Your Church on earth through the work of Martin Luther and other faithful pastors and leaders during the Reformation. We praise You that by Your rich grace we have come to the sure knowledge that we stand justified before You, not by what we have done, but rather by faith in what Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, has done on our behalf. We ask that You would defend Your Church from all enemies of Your saving Word. Cause the Good News of the Gospel to be proclaimed in this time to every nation and tribe and language and people on earth, and graciously preserve the fruits of the Gospel for generations to come. God, our refuge

and strength, hear our prayer. Almighty, everlasting God, our heavenly Father, Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We thank You for opening and enlightening the minds of all worshipers and church visitors here today. As You have helped us to understand Your pure Word clearly, so also empower us by the Holy Sprit to devotedly live our lives in accordance with it. God, our refuge and strength, hear our prayer. Lord God, we ask Your blessing upon those who maintain commerce and the financial institutions of our land. Bring to an end the efforts of those who deal dishonestly and all who seek to gain unjustly at the expense of others. Bless all those who conduct their business honestly, that they may enjoy the fruits of their good reputation. God, our refuge and strength, hear our prayer.

Healer of our every ill, touch the minds, bodies and hearts of those broken by sickness and injury and all those recovering from surgery [especially _____________ ], that they may be restored to health and life according to Your good and gracious will and as You best see fit. Let Your face shine upon them, that they may be kept in Your peace as their strength and mobility improve. God, our refuge and strength, hear our prayer. Merciful Lord, our Sun and our Shield, through His blood Your Son stands before You as our great High Priest. By Your Spirit, prepare our hearts to worthily receive the body and blood of our Savior who was sacrificed for us on the cross, believing His promise: “Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins.” God, our refuge and strength, hear our prayer. O Lord God, our Sun and our Shield, sustain and comfort all those who

mourn the death of loved ones so that they may never lose sight of Your sure promise of the resurrection to eternal life. Set our minds on heavenly things instead of earthly things so that our souls long for Your kingdom. Bring us by Your grace to that promised dwelling place You have prepared in love for all the saints. God, our refuge and strength, hear our prayer. Holding fast to our confidence in Your Son and rejoicing in the triumph of His death and resurrection, we entrust ourselves and all for whom we pray to Your loving care, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Revelation 14:6-7The Messages of the Three Angels6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people. 7 And he said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come, and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and thesprings of water.”

Romans 3:19-2819 Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For by works of the law no human being[a] will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.The Righteousness of God Through Faith21 But now the righteousness of Godhas been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and

are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed overformer sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.27 Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

John 8:31-36The Truth Will Set You Free31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33 They answered him,“We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone.

How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?”34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave[a] to sin. 35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed

Matthew 11:12-1912 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence,[a] and the violent take it by force. 13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John, 14 and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come. 15 He who has ears to hear,[b] let him hear.16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,17 “‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;    we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a

demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”[c]

Psalm 46God Is Our FortressTo the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth.[a] A Song.46 God is our refuge and strength,    a very present[b] help introuble.2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,    though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,3 though its waters roar and foam,    though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,    the holy habitation of the Most High.5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;

    God will help her when morning dawns.6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;    he utters his voice, the earthmelts.7 The LORD of hosts is with us;    the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah8 Come, behold the works of theLORD,    how he has brought desolations on the earth.9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;    he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;    he burns the chariots with fire.10 “Be still, and know that I am God.    I will be exalted among the nations,    I will be exalted in the earth!”11 The LORD of hosts is with us;    the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Share Time: REFORMATION DAY (October 31)(observed the last Sunday in October) Revelation 14:6–7Romans 3:19–28John 8:31–36or Matthew 11:12–19 The Son of God Has Set Us Free from Sin and Death by His Grace “Wisdom is justified by her deeds” (Matt. 11:19), and the true Wisdom of God, Christ Jesus the incarnate Son, justifies us by His deeds. He prepares His way by the preaching of repentance, but He has suffered the violence of the Law and voluntarily handed Himself over to violent men, that we might eat and drink with Him in His Kingdom and “remain in the house forever” (John 8:35). For He is “a friend of tax collectors and sinners” (Matt. 11:19), and He has rescued us by His grace from the slavery of sin and death. By the proclamation of His eternal Gospel “to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people” (Rev. 14:6), “the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law” (Rom. 3:21), “that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus” (Rom. 3:26). And by hearing the Gospel of Christ Jesus, “whom God put forward as a propitiation by His blood, to be received by faith” (Rom. 3:25), “you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31–32).

Rev. 7:2-17; 1 John 3:1-3; Matt. 5:1-12; Psalm 149Revelation 7:2-172 Then I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants[a] of our God on their foreheads.” 4 And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:5 12,000 from the tribe of Judah were sealed,12,000 from the tribe of Reuben,12,000 from the tribe of Gad,6 12,000 from the tribe of Asher,12,000 from the tribe of Naphtali,12,000 from the tribe of Manasseh,7 12,000 from the tribe of Simeon,12,000 from the tribe of Levi,12,000 from the tribe of Issachar,8 12,000 from the tribe of Zebulun,12,000 from the tribe of Joseph,12,000 from the tribe of Benjamin were sealed.A Great Multitude from Every Nation9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”13 Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from

where have they come?”14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.15 “Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water,and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”1 John 3:1-33 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears[a] we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.Matthew 5:1-12The Sermon on the Mount5 Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.The Beatitudes2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, fortheirs is the kingdom of heaven.4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

6 “Blessed are those who hunger andthirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons[a] of God.10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Psalm 149Sing to the LORD a New Song149 Praise the LORD!Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!3 Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!4 For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.5 Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds.6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands,7 to execute vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples,8 to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron,9 to execute on them the judgment written! This is honor for all his godly ones.Praise the LORD!
