“Bridge to the World’ is a ESD youth program aimed to develop their future skills. In this program, participants set their own theme according to local issue, and research on it in local, national, and international level. It provides youth to learn how to live for the sus-

tainable future.

A Global activity

We considered “the ways that Tongyeong students could draw closer to traditional

cultures’ from the student’s perspective“. We visited Yogyakarta, Indonesia to find a

clue for the answer.

A good case

During visit in RCE Yokjarkarta

“Students at the traditional arts school wore school uniforms made using Batik, a traditional cloth. It was very impressive that students were proud of their tra-

ditional cultures and introduced them. “

Follow-up activities

Change our school name tag using NUBI(traditional

cloth)

We thought that it might be good to use Nubi (cloth densely quilted after the thin cotton is put between fabrics), Tongyeong’s traditional cloth, in making the name tag of Tongyeong

High School.
