Through storm and grief,

Hit many a rock and many a reef,

What keep them going was a great belief.

That the human race was a special freight

So they had to learn to navigate.

If they didn’t want to be in Jonah’s shoes,

Better be mated on this here cruise.—Why—

……………………………………………………

So the boiler blew, somewhere in Spain,

All the kettle was smashed and 40 cranes.

Steam boat out from the Oregon Main.

Oh, it took some time for the crew to learn

What is bad for the bow ain’t good for the stern.

If a fire took place in China today

Pearl Harbor just gonna blaze away.

Name the song.

X premiered in the U.S. on the Fox network on September 20, 2002. By mid-December, X had averaged 4.7 million viewers per episode and was 98th in Nielsen ratings. It was cancelled after eleven of the fourteen produced episodes were aired.

Despite the relatively short life span of the series, it received strong sales when it was released on DVD and has large fan support campaigns.

It won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2003 for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series. TV Guide ranked the series #5 on their 2013 list of 60 shows that were "Cancelled Too Soon".

The post-airing success of the show led the creator of the show and Universal Pictures to produce a film based on the series, and the franchise expanded to other media, including comics and a role-playing game.
