Energy
By Rohan Williamson
THE TARDIS GETS ITS ENERGY FRO M A BLACK HO LE...
Past taking actionWell, first of all, one of our classmates has taken action about energy and expressed his learning on a PowerPoint, so I decided to do one too. His name is Ryan!
He took action by going on a field trip in Ma Sha Wan during the weekend to find out more about different types of energy. I think he did research and direct action.
MY OWN direct ACTION ABOUT ENERGY
I ride my bike sometimes to the plaza to save more energy for things we need in life. If you just take the bus all the time, then food energy will become fat!
My family switches off the lights at night because we don’t need them on when we’re sleeping, plus it is a waste of electrical energy.
Ride your bike!Do not take the bus!
DIRECT ACTION CONTINUED...
We open the curtains to let the solar light, light up our house instead of switching the lights on and wasting energy when we don’t need to.
We turn off the air-conditioner ASAP as we don’t want to make the house unnecessarily cold. If we did, we’d be freezing.
Healthy energyOn a Saturday, I have an omelette and feta cheese to give me protein and energy for the growth of my body.
I eat blueberries and raspberries, combining them together to make Blastberries which is a name made with half Blueberries and half raspberries! This provides antioxidant energy for keeping my body healthy!
FOSSIL FUELS and transportation
The DB ferry carries about 440 people to Hong Kong island and Discovery Bay. It gets there by using fossil fuels. Fossil fuels take billions of years to be made, so it’s not renewable.
However, shared transportation (ferries, MTR etc) is better for the environment than those who travel alone in cars.
