CLASS

• In my film, the characters are all from working class backgrounds. We choose to make the characters come from a working class background because with our film being affiliated with gang culture, we figured that we should mirror the stereotypical view about gang member being from a working class.

• Although the characters may be from a working class background because of their families but they themselves are not included in the working class system because all of them are unemployed and also spend their time selling drugs to make some sort of money or creating problems for society.

RACE

• The race mostly represented in our film are of black origin with a white male also included. The reason why we made the majority of the characters of black origin is that most prominent gang members in London are of black origin and if we as a group were to prolong the film and reveal the gangs the characters belonged to, the audience we see a majority of the gang members being of that origin.

• As the core of the story is about postcode rivalry between the characters it may be that the conscious thing would be that not all the gang members are black with other races certainly present.

AGE

• Regarding the age of the characters in my film, I’ll say it consists of youths and teenagers. We as a group chose this age group because we followed the stereotypical view of gang members being mostly youths in secondary school and college.

• Audiences for film can tell we used youths as actors in our film due to behavior of our characters in the storyline such as the swearing and the kidnapping of the rival gang member.

GENDER

• In our film our main characters are male. We decide to do this because of the masculine domination in most of London’s gangs as most men are normally the leaders and often make up most of the members

• However if the film where to continue from we would introduced a female character to either act as friend to the characters as female characters in our genre often provide advice and guidance to the male characters when they find themselves in some sort of trouble which in this case most of the characters seem to be in. We could introduce a female character to create a female love interest for the characters so that some sort of emotion can be shown by characters, which is normally not associated with gang members.

SEXUALITY

• Heterosexuals are sexuality represented in our film, we choose this sexuality for our characters as we followed the stereotype of masculine people in London. In addition to gangs are most likely to have a strong view on including other forms of sexuality in their gangs, which influenced our decision
