What is I/O? I/O is short

for input/output (pronounced "eye-oh"). The term I/O is used to describe any program, operation or device that transfers data to or from a computer and to or from a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input into another.

Input is any information or data that is entered or sent to the computer to be processed.

.An Input Device is a piece of hardware that is used to enter

data into a computer or content into a computer system.

Manual Input DeviceManual input devices are those

peripheral accessories of a computer system that allow

users to directly interact with that computer and its systems.Examples: mouse, keyboard, joystick,

digital camera, and microphone

Automatic Input Device

Automatic input devices are those peripheral accessories of a computer system that enable

data to be entered without human intervention.

Examples: barcode reader, sensors, biometric devices, and magnetic stripe

readers

Mouse  The mouse is

a computer input device used to move a cursor around the

screen.

become information inside the computer.

an upside-down mouse that rotates in place within a socket.

input device consisting of a

stick that pivots on a base and reports

its angle or direction to the

device it is controlling.

photosensitive device connected to

a computer and moved by hand over an output display in order to manipulate information in the

computer.

reader (or barcode scanner) is an

electronic device for reading

printed barcodes.
