Utilize technology with learning

Kids love technology. When we as instructors can utilize technology, such as the computer, the students will be more interested in learning.

Use Imagery To Teach Concepts

Children learn best when they can visualize what they are being taught. Using visual imagery, such as pictures, graphics, videos and diagrams will help a child in learning different concepts.

Connect Music And Movement Activities To Academic Concepts

By using repetition, number patterns and songs we can connect movement activities and music to academic concepts. Some examplesthat the elementary team has used are multiplication tables and spelling words.

Collaborative Learning Elementary students love working with one another on different different activities and projects. Their able to demonstrate their understanding of the content while working on their collaborative skills. One example of collaborative learning in the Elementary PE course is the “Human Knot”.

Teaching With ManipulativesHands on learning is a great way to engage children and keep them Engaged. When children can touch and move manipulatives when learning new skills, their senses are involved in the learning experience. In the Elementary PE courses we use online and concrete items to teach and reinforce different skills. Throwing and catching are two concrete examples and interactives in the courses are online examples.
