McMaster University students use 36 millions of papers each year. We as a student can save over 240 trees a year by reduce our paper use from 5 sheets to 2 sheets a day.

Billions of tons of carbon dioxide are produced each year, meanwhile billions of trees are cut down yearly, which

accelerates the global warming.

In the 21st century human kind is facing a major natural crisis. Tsunami, hurricane Katrina, hurricane Ike and many more.

Industrialization and privatization of the lands let to the destroying of the cultivated lands.

Scientists predict that if the ratio of the greenhouse gases and harvesting of trees remain the same, soon we will witness the bigger

and stronger disasters.

For this purpose I will be holding an event called Mac Go Green.

If each student on average uses five sheets of paper a day; McMaster University alone uses 100,000 sheets a day 3,000,000 a month and

36,000,000 a year. Mean while every student at McMaster also receives six to ten sheets of paper in the form of bills. This brings the total

number of paper count per year to 38,400,000. According to WikiAnswers 90,000 sheets of paper can be obtained from a single tree. I can encourage every student to cut down their paper use from five to

two and switch all their bills to online billing; we can save 240 trees per year.
