In what ways does your media product

use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real

media products?

My media product meets the typical codes and conventions of a magazine and adheres specifically to my chosen genre, Acoustic. On the Front Cover I have typical magazine conventions such as the title, a barcode, the magazine issue number, a top line and the price. On the front cover I have the main artist posing with a guitar and I have a plain dark background, which is typical of my genre. I have additionally put the image of the artist overlaying the magazine name. My content page and my double page spread also use conventions of my media product. Both have the page number, images of featured artists, and the title of what is on that page. My magazine sticks to a colour scheme, however my magazine challenges the codes and conventions as it has pale blue in the colour scheme, along with black and white , I chose to do this as I wanted my magazine to appeal to a younger audience . This challenges the codes and conventions as acoustic magazines usually stick to darker colours and sometimes add in brighter colours if it has some connection to the artist for example clothing colour or hair colour.
