• The soft skills training provides strong practical orientation to the students and helps them in building and improving their key skills requirement in the area of communication,, presentations, team building, leadership, time management, and inter-personal skill .

• A software engineer / or any executive/ professional no longer works in isolation but is expected to interact with a variety of clients both within and outside the country .

• For a student looking for a job , it is increasingly important that he /she has to arm with adequate soft skills to be employable. soft skills will give them an edge over others in the corporate arena given the fact of global competition.

• Employability skills / Soft skills are very essential in the current global job market which are given utmost importance in campus interview.

• NAASCOM has come out with a study which states that some ofthe world’s most admired and respected companies like AccentureConvergys ,Dell ,Google ,HP, IBM, ICICI, ITC , UTI Bank ,CenturianBank ,Microsoft ,Satyam ,Tesco ,Verizon to name a few across industry verticals are in need of the industry ready candidates.

• A leading business research and consultancy firm Frost & Sullivan study reveals that over 40% of the students have given more importance to Employability skills over domain knowledge. The study states that Indians undoubtedly are very competent in their technical skills, but this does not suffice anymore to make them globally competitive. Hence, it is imperative that companies in India today are emphasizing the importance of soft skills training

• Unless or otherwise the employees are adequately trained/ practiced on various soft skills, the competition will push them out of business .

• Even the Top Executives /CEO’s are required to sharpen /polish and update their soft skills in line with the changing business Scenario.

• Mere hard skills/ domain knowledge are no longer will yield good results unless it is complemented with required soft skills .

Corporate Inclination towards Training Budget

• Traditionally, Indian companies spend anywhere between 0.5 and 2 per cent of their turnover on training their employees.

• The American Society for Training has estimated the spend to be in the range of 2-2.5 per cent of company turnover on employee skill development programmes., though progressive companies are known to spend up to five per cent of their turnover on training.

• The major spender being IT and ITES which are essentially people-oriented businesses .

• The other booming sectors like Retail, automobile, sales, service, financial services and banking, telecom and manufacturing are also have no exception / hesitation in spending under the current scenario.

• While corporate continue to allocate such budgets , it is also expected that any person seeking employment in future necessarily to have such skills in line with the fact that the knowledge economy is booming in countries like India.

• It is evident that there is a huge potential requirement for this training with corporate given the fact of allocating 3-5 % on the turn over as Training budget.

• Most of the corporate training requirements are outsourced .

• Indian Economy also booming and steadily going upwards in various sectors
