Tip #2Know and follow my 3 rules

Students should follow all district and school rules and procedures.

Students should follow all classroom expectations. No exceptions!

Remember that I, Coach Crews, am in charge of this class.

*Be aware that these rules are subject to change, at my discretion, if necessary.

Some things that cause a problem for Coach Crews (in no particular order):

Being out of your seat when the bell ringsTalking while I am talkingGetting out of your desk while I am teachingCommunicating with other students during teaching time or testsFailure to follow directionsDisrespecting my right to teach and your classmates’ right to learn

Tip #3 Learn and follow class procedures

Enter the classroom prepared to succeedBring all appropriate materials (paper, pencil, notebook, etc.)Have consideration for othersMaintain a desire to learn

PUT YOUR CELLPHONE AWAY!Begin Bellwork upon entering the classUse the restroom between classesDo NOT pack up until you are instructed to do so

Tip #5Understand the grading policy

Summative Assessments count for 80% of the final grade and CAN be retaken.

Formative Assessments count for 10% of the final grade and CANNOT be redone.

Class Participation counts for 10% of the final grade.Contribution to class discussion and group work

Tip #6Know the retest policy

Students who score an 89 or below on any summative assessment are eligible for a retest.The highest grade a student can make on a retest is a 90.The student must schedule and attend intervention with the teacher.The student must complete a request to retest form and provide evidence of his or her improved understanding of tested concepts.Students have until the next class summative to complete a retest.Students must schedule a time with the teacher to retest. The student’s highest grade will be recorded in the gradebook.Students may not retake any nine weeks, semester, or final exams.

Tip #8Know the absentee policy

Absentee PolicyCheck the make-up folderRetrieve assignments with your name on them and not the day assignments are dueAsk the teacher if you have any questionsTurn in make-up work to the classwork tray at the beginning of class the day it is due

Late WorkLate work will receive a minus 5 points for everyday it is late.Consistent late work will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
