WORK INSTRUCTION FOR TENSILE TEST ON UTM 1) CUT THE PIECE LENGTH-220MM, WIDTH-20MM. 2) GRINDING THE EDGES AND MAKE SMOOTH SURFACES ON THE EDGES. 3) MARKING THE GAUGE LENGTH (80MM). 4) MEASURE AND RECORD THE WIDTH AND THICKNESS 5) SWITH ON THE MAIN LINE OF UTM 40T. 6) THEN SET THE LOAD SCALE IN 100KN. 7) CYLINDER RELIF VALVE SHOULD BE OPENED STILL THE CYLINDER COMES DONE (i.e. BY OPENING THE LEFT KNOB). 8) AFTER THE CYLINDER COMES DOWN, THAT LEFT KNOB SHOULD BE CLOSED. 9) THE SAMPLE WILL BE KEPT IN BETWEEN THE JAWS BY UP AND DOWN SCREW MACHANISM. 10) INITIALLY THE BOTTOM JAW IS SHOULD BE LOCKED AND LOCK NUT SHOULD BE LOCKED 11) TOP JAW IS SHOULD BE LOCKED. 12) THEN, WE WILL ENSURE THE BLACK&RED NEEDLES IN THE DIAL IS SHOULD AT IN THE ZERO. 13) NEXT, WE WILL OPEN THE COMPUTER, AND STARTING THE NEW RECORD THROUGH THE SECOND ICON. 14) AND ENTER THE FILE NAME (i.e. COIL NO (OR) I.D NO). 15) SELECTE THE SAMPLE TYPE. 16) WE, RECORD THE WIDTH AND THICKNESS, GAUGE LENGTH.

TO/DEPT ADDRESS.18) THEN PRESS THE “SAVE” ICON.19) AND PRESS THE “START” ICON AND VERIFY THE

SPECIMEN DIMENSIONS AND PRESS THE “DATA OK” ICON20) WE, WILL THE ONLINE GRAPH SCREEN, THAT GIVEN

GRAPH SCALE, X-max (in MM), T-max (in KN). THEN PRESS “OK” ICON.

21) PRESS THE “TARE LOAD” ICON TO MAKE, THE AI

DIGITAL INDICATER AND SYSTEM AS ZERO.22) ENSURE THE CYLINDER FLOW CONTROL VALVE (i.e.

RIGHT SIDE KNOB SHOULD BE CLOSED)23) PRESS THE “STARTS TEST” ICON.24) AND, THEN START THE HYDRAULIC POWER PACK

AND REALESED SLOWLEY THE RIGHT KNOB, FOR THE HYDRAULIC FLOW TO THE CYLINDER.

25) OBSERE THE ON-LINE GRAPH.26) NOTE THE PEAK LOAD , WHERE WILL THE CURVE

GET REFLECTION THAT’S TREAT AS YIELD LOAD RECORDED THE SEPERATLY FOR Ys CALCULATION AND OBSERE THE NEEDLE MOVEMENTS IN THE DIAL INDICATER.

27) AFTER BROKING THE SAMPLE PIECE, IMMEDIATELY STOP THE HYDRAULIC POWER PACK.

28) TAKE THE BROKEN SAMPLE AND MEASURE THE FINAL GAUGE LENGTH; THE SAME SHOULD BE RECCORDED IN THE ON-LINE COMPUTER TABLE.

29) AND PRESS THE “SAVE” ICON 30) PRESS THE”RESULTS OK” ICON, AND YOU WILL GET

THE RESULTS AND GRAPH DISPLAY SCREEN.31) SELECTE THE ADDITIONAL RESULTS AND THE YIELD

LOAD (in KN). 32) CALCULATE Ys =Ys (LOAD) (in KN/SQMM) C-S AREA OF SAMPLE 33) CLICK THE GRID LINE ON THE GRAPH AND SELECTE THE GRAPH (i.e.) LOAD Vs DISPLACEMENT.34) ONLY TICK THE REQUIRED RESULTS ON THE GRAPH.35) START THE PRINTER, AND ENSURE THE PRINTING CATRICH AND PAPER.36) THEN PRESS THE ICON (PRINT CERTIFICATE) AND TAKE OUT THE GRAPH.37) YOU, WILL GET THE UTL&SRL WINDOW, AND AS TO CONFIRM PRINT.38) AND VERIFY THE RESULTS AND CLOSE THE FILES.
