February Highlights
1/2 Day = Movie Day The first 14 to return their permission slips are invited to join us for a trip to Ice skating at Northern Fauquier Community Park on Tuesday, March 12. The Windy Hill Van will be picking up at the John Page Turner Community House in The Plains and Washburn Place in Mar-shall. Contact Gwen for more details.

The Annual Community Shrove Pancake Supper will be Tuesday, March 5, from
5:30-7 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in The Plains. The men of the church will
flip blueberry, traditional and chocolate chip flapjacks. Couples, families and individuals
are invited free of charge. A goodwill offering will be accepted to go toward the church’s

• Community Meeting: Calling all Windy Hill Housing
residents! Don’t miss our first ever community meet-ing on Friday, March 8th from 6-8 PM @ Mar-shall Community Center at 4133 Rectortown Road, Marshall. Let’s get reacquainted while you give us your feedback for improving your housing experience. Light refreshments will be served.
• Hey Vintage Virginians! You are invited to the 10th Annual Middleburg Community Center Senior Luncheon on Thursday, March 14th, 12-1:30pm @ 300 W Washington St, Middleburg, Enjoy a delicious lunch, bingo, and live jazz music! Open and free to the public. Call Gwen if you need a ride.
• Come hungry to the Free Monthly Community Lunch on Saturday, March 16th from 11-1 PM @ Grace Episcopal Church at 6507 Main St, The Plains.
• Money Matters. Learn practical financial tips and how to manage your credit when we partner with The Fauquier Bank for a Financial Planning Work-shop on Friday, March 22nd from 6 PM @ The John Page Turner Community House at 6473 Main Street, The Plains.
• Family Fun Night - You are all invited to showcase your hidden talents during our first Supper and Songs event on Friday, March 29th from 5:30-7:30 PM @ The Marshall Community Center.
• Reminder: The Plains Community League meets the 1st Thursday of the month. We’ve got lots of fun activities planned for the Spring! Come share your ideas on March 7th !
Lets skate the afternoon away! It’s a half day and what better way to spend it than ending the
Winter season on ice rink?! Send your waiver in by March 8th.

Community Resources
The Plains Community League is pleased to of-fer scholarships again this year. The amount each scholarship is to be determined after we
receive the completed applica-tions. This scholarship is limited to The Plains
residents only. It will be a one time scholarship, although recipients can apply again next year, dependent upon funds we are able to provide.
We need to have the applications completed and turned in by April 10th, that will allow us time to meet with the applicants, review ap-
plications, and choose the winners by the April 26th, 2019 deadline.

The Fauquier Community Band invites you to attend a free concert of the
compelling rhythms and spellbinding melo-dies of George Gershwin. Open to everyone.
