What is the Importance of Electricity? The other day, our Turkish teacher told us to

do homework about the importance of electricity. Ever since the lesson I have not stopped thinking how I could do the homework. I asked my mother:

• Mum, our Turkish teacher gave us homework. Can you help me?

• Of course. What is this homework about?• It is about the importance of electricity.

• Hmm. Look what came to my mind! Let’s turn off the electricity today and see how life is without electricity!

• Actually a good idea, but how will I explain this to my teacher?

• Nothing easier than this, my dear. You will prepare a report!

• Ok, mum. Let’s start. But anyway, I have more time. There is a show I like on the TV. After I watch it, I will start my homework.

• Come on, dear – no television, computer, light, etc. Until the evening we will sit at home, in a candle light. Let’s see how it goes.

• But, mum…• No ‘but’! Yes, I am cutting off

the electricity. Now I will prepare food on the cooker..

• It will be funny!

That day of my life was the most difficult and it was like a useless day for me. However, no matter how bored it might have become, it turned out to be enjoyable. In the evening, we had a nice conversation at the candlelight. However, while my mum was preparing the dinner, and my father was reading a newspaper, and my brother was doing the same things again and again, I got so bored. Anyway, at 9pm we turned on the electricity again. I will compare today with tomorrow.

Today was a day without electricity, but the day after there was electricity. I added these facts to my report. The teacher thanked me a lot. Moreover, he also sent “thanks” to my family. In the class, my homework attracted a lot of attention. I was very happy. The conclusion from this homework is that if there was no electricity our lives would have been very difficult.
