Celebrant Our Lord Jesus Christ said: The first commandment is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is the only Lord. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength’. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’. There is no other commandment greater than these. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

All Amen. Lord have mercy.

Celebrant Jesus says, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.’ So let us turn away from sin and turn to Christ, confessing our sins in penitence and faith.

All Lord God, we have sinned against you; we have done evil in your sight. We are sorry and repent. Have mercy on us according to your love. Wash away our wrongdoing and cleanse us from our sin. Renew a right spirit within us and restore to us the joy of your salvation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Celebrant Almighty God, who in Jesus Christ has given us a kingdom that cannot be destroyed, forgive us our sins, open our eyes to God’s truth, strengthen us to do God’s will and give us the joy of his kngdom, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

All Amen.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

Hymn: Words: Rev’d J. Gater. Tune: St Anne.

GOD’S LOVE IS HERE WITH US TODAY as we, our anthem raise, and meet in word and Sacrament The Saviour, whom we praise.

God’s love is shown to all of us, more than we each deserve, we see his face in weak and poor, in all those whom we serve.

God’s love is found within the church , when we love as we should,

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

Page 9: Welcome to St Margaret’s Church Ifield€¦  · Web view2/7/2015 · THOU, WHOSE ALMIGHTY WORD . chaos and darkness heard, and tool their flight; hear us,

forgiving one another’s faults, and choosing to see good.God’s love was sacrificed for us, he died upon a tree, he gave Himself that we might live, he came to set us free.

God’s love is giv’n in blesséd gifts of wine and broken bread, reminding us of all he did, and of the blood he shed.

His love is on the table spread, it is our holy food, transforming us to live like him, who died upon the rood.

So, let us go and show this love to all whom we shall meet, inviting them to ‘wait the day, we share his heavenly feast.

All Glory to the trinity, The Father, and The Son and Holy Spirit, whom we praise, Our God, the three in one. Amen.

Celebrant Yours, Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the splendour, and the majesty; for everything in heaven and on earth is yours.

All All things come from you, and of your own do we give you.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

We sit or stand for:The Eucharistic Prayer

The Lord is hereAll His Spirit is with us.

Lift up your hearts. All We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.All It is right to give thanks and praise.

Celebrant It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should always sing of your glory, holy Father, almighty and eternal God, through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. For you are the hope of the nations, the builder of the city that is to come. Your love made visible in Jesus Christ brings home the lost, restores the sinner and gives dignity to the despised. In his face your light shines out, flooding lives with goodness and truth, gathering into one in your kingdom a divided and broken humanity. Therefore with all who can give voice in your creation we glorify your name, for ever praising you and singing:

Copyright 2012 David Thorne Music. All Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,

heaven and earth are full of your glory.Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest.Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.Hosanna, hosanna, hosanna in the highest.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

Page 11: Welcome to St Margaret’s Church Ifield€¦  · Web view2/7/2015 · THOU, WHOSE ALMIGHTY WORD . chaos and darkness heard, and tool their flight; hear us,

We praise and bless you, loving Father, through Jesus Christ, our Lord; and as we obey his command, send your Holy Spirit, that broken bread and wine outpoured may be for us the body and blood of your dear Son.

On the night before he died he had supper with his friends and, taking bread, he praised you. He broke the bread, gave it to them and said: Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.

When supper was ended he took the cup of wine. Again he praised you, gave it to them and said: Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

So, Father, we remember all that Jesus did, in him we plead with confidence his sacrifice made once for all upon the cross. Bringing before you the bread of life and cup of salvation, we proclaim his death and resurrection until he comes in glory.

Praise to you Lord Jesus:All Dying you destroyed our death,

Rising you restored our life:Lord Jesus, come in glory.

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

Lord of all life, help us to work together for that daywhen your kingdom comes and justice and mercy will be seen in all the earth. Look with favour on your people, gather us in your loving arms and bring us with St Margaret and all the saints to feast at your table in heaven. Through Christ, and with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all honour and glory are yours, O loving Father, for ever and ever.

All Amen.

The Lord’s PrayerAll Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done,on earth as in heaven.Give us today our daily bread.Forgive us our sins,as we forgive those who sin against us.Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The Breaking of the BreadThe Priest breaks the consecrated bread

We break this bread to share in the body of Christ. All Though we are many, we are one body,

because we all share in one bread.

Communion HymnsHymn 687: Thomas Chisholm. Copyright © 1923 Hope Publishing TAKE MY LIFE, AND LET IT BE consecrated, Lord, to thee; take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love; take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King; take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from thee.

Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold; take my intellect, and use ev’ry pow’r as thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it thine: it shall be no longer mine; take my heart: it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne.

Take my love; my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure-store; take myself, and I will be ever, only all for thee.

Hymn 563: Stuart Hine. Copyright © 1953 Stuart Hine.

O LORD MY GOD! When I in awesome wonder consider all the works thy hand hath made; I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder, thy pow’r throughout the universe displayed:

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, how great thou at! How great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee, how great thou art! How great thou art!

‘Accept one another for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.’ (Romans 15:7)

When through the woods and forest glades I wander and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur, and hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze:

And when I think that God, his Son not sparing, sent him to die – I scarce can take it in: that on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,he bled and died to take away my sin:

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation and take me home – what joy shall fill my heart! Then shall I bow in humble adoration, and there proclaim, my God, how great thou art!

THE DISMISSALCelebrant We go into the world to walk in God’s light,

to rejoice in God’s love, and to reflect God’s glory.

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. All In the name of Christ.

With the formation of the new PPC, I am about to refresh the St Margaret’s Church picture board and need to take an individual picture of all the current PCC members and its representatives. With this in mind I would be very grateful if you could be available after a Sunday morning eleven o’clock service, commencing Sunday 12th, or in the immediate future so I could take a head and shoulders picture of you. I would be very grateful I could get all the pictures taken in a very short space of time, rather than have them spread out over many weeks. I will be in attendance every Sunday morning and available in the Choir vestry where the picture will be taken. Your cooperation will be very much appreciated. Ron Binmore.
