We are campaigning to raise the profile of the social care sector and to promote the great career opportunities and progression available to those who choose a career in social care.
Did you know? For 1 negative news story, it takes at least 5 positive news stories to change public perception.
How do HCPA run the campaign?Throughout the year HCPA attend events put on by HCPA members that focus on engaging both staff and service users. We have a focused month called Good Care Month in July.
HCPA staff take photos, interview care staff about why they chose to work in care, and speak to service users about the care they receive.
Herts Good Care post on social media the positive stories that we gather to inspire new people to work in care.
We support you to involve as many people in the local community as possible, such as local businesses, public services, and local schools.

Skills for Care Retention Strategy
DoH commissioned research to uncover good practice examples in attracting and retaining workers.
The research confirmed what we already thought; that combining good communication, training and worker
independence creates motivating and rewarding environments which leads to higher level of staff satisfaction
and loyalty.
The research found that addressing these issues should see an increase in retention levels.
