WORD PUN: KICKED OUT OF COURT 4/24/09 PIX: I saw a basketball being kicked with a knee as though it was a soccer ball. The balllanded on a beautifully mowed green field.

HEARD: Hundreds and hundreds of acres.

INTERPRETATION REVELATION: I questioned, what is a basketball doing in a soccer field...it isin the wrong court. Immediately I realized this was a word pun, where the Lord was sayingthat the ball was kicked out of court and into a wonderful wide expanse of freedom.

Rev 12:10-11 NKJV Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of HisChrist have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before ourGod day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood ofthe Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to thedeath.

It was also quickened to me that the soccer move was from the knee, which means the Lord ishealing feeble knees.

Heb 12:12-13 NKJV Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 andmake straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, butrather be healed.

WORD TO PONDER: KICKED OUT OF COURT 4/24/09 Precious ones, you have gone through such a deep sifting as the enemy has taken you to court,accused you, intimidated you, threatened you with prison, and demanded My judgment uponyour sinful choices. I have listened to both sides, for the enemy does see what is not aligningto scripture in your life. I have watched you change your life and repentantly realign with MyWord. I have listened as you stood and declared My promises and testimony in your life. Ihave watched you realize that even in your alignments and stand, you are too weak to defendyourself and it is My blood that bought your freedom from the threat of prison and from thiscourt case. AMAZING CLASS RESPONSES TO THE WORD PUN I did not give the class the interpretation the Lord gave me, but instead passed it on for themto chew on. The following are their responses. I was totally amazed at the wealth in such goodgifts that came through as they pondered this Word pun. I can clearly see how alive God’sWord really is, which means that when He speaks, it bypasses all barriers and goes right downinto each person’s heart according to our own life. When we interpret His Words, it is good tolearn from others, but when it applies, it needs to apply to our own life and be filtered throughour own unique Holy Spirit gifts and testimony in Him.

The following is from my book, 101 Ways God Speaks. I think this really connects with thefollowing class responses, so I want to insert it here:

I heard a cute idea of portraying the gifts in the body of Christ, which I haveexpounded upon: The way you tell a person’s gift is to watch how he responds toany given situation. Pretend a little boy is carrying a glass of water, trips and spillsthe water. Each response is the person with their own particular gift to share:

• The gift of Ministry: “Are you all right? Here, let me get the mop and broom!”

• The Apostle: “I found a place where we can get you a new glass of water. Here,let me show you the way.”

• The Prophet: “Always walk carefully as though you carry a glass of water in yourhands, and beware of stumbling blocks in your way.”

• The Evangelist: “There is someone thirsty over in the corner. Will you take somewater to him?”

After analyzing the class responses, I saw that the Lord was feeding us the following:

• PARABLES • WARNINGS • AFFIRMATIONS • REASSURANCES • PROMISES • LESSONS ON INTERPRETATIONS

I grew so much by sitting at the feet of this class as they shared so liberally. The Lordpromised us a wonderful banquet table in the midst of our enemies, and my little portion onthe table is just a tiny dot in comparison to the rich banquet below! I cant even begin toexpress the joy I feel in being connected with God’s people where we have a place to shareand interact. I am so grateful.

This idea of using the whole body really spoke to me.

Those last two verses sure did speak to me and give me hope for my knees. I havebeen having trouble with both knees because the cartilage is wearing out and thebones are grinding together causing pain and difficulty walking.

It would be harder to kick a heavy basketball over green acres with my kneesinstead of a lighter weight soccer ball, but if my knees are healed, then it would bepossible.

The basketball was "dislocated" because it was lacking courage. It representsmany ministries who have not fitted into the "look good" basketball court. But theLord would say He is coming with vengeance against the accuser and there is a vastworld, hundreds and hundreds of hungry hearts waiting for a 'new' game play.

After reading other people's responses, especially the one that said "ache-ers", andhaving my knees ache all weekend, I think the pun is knee ache-ers. The only otherthing I could think of, was it's the bee's (B for basketball) knees. I'm sure I'm toofocused on knees. The other thing that came to mind was "Green Acres" the silly TV

show with Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor. That song runs through my mind. This hasbeen funny to me all weekend as I hobble around. I'm going to the doctor tomorrowfor shots in the knees to take the pain away.

HEARING A WARNING THROUGH THE WORD PUN

• Maybe the church is playing games instead of resting on those green pastures.

• The tool (knee) that was used in the game to shoot the ball into another areawhich is off limits.

• The grass always appears greener on the other side, but broad is the way thatleads to destruction.

• The old saying "you dropped the ball" comes to mind. Did you notice that it was abasketball that was used and it was not used the way it is supposed to be used (itwas dropped like a soccer ball). To make the basket you have to raise your hands(lift up your hands- hence the verse-

The ball in this case would mean the gospel and the field(hundreds of acres) wouldbe the world.

We must not let the gospel be dropped but carry it until we make the desired basketand score the point by overcoming with our testimony!!

• Basketballs are made for the hands, not the knees, and for courts, not greenfields.

• Basketballs are not made for kicking. Right action but wrong ball.

• We can't court other gods! This is pure God... the Hebrew word for “other” isACHER (H312). Those acres can represent the ones courting other gods to wherewe need to pass our ball of love and they are also our inheritance!

HEARING AN AFFIRMATION THROUGH THE WORD PUN

• One is in the right game.

• The game is active (which is good).

HEARING REASSURANCE THROUGH THE WORD PUN

• I immediately thought was “Hey that should be a soccer ball not a basketball!”But then things in the natural dont always make sense to the mind of thesupernatural yet it gets the job done none the less. Gods ways are higher than ourways and we need to do it Gods way and not the natural way. I am challenged tosay Lord always show us your ways so we are not weak in the knees...

• Pun: We need redemption, like the kind of care given to the green field (welltrimmed)

• Yes, one would expect that the picture should show a rugby ball to the knee. Likea parable of training/preparing/exercising our spirit to see beyond what weexpected or predicted or longed for in a circumstance so that we will begin to breakfree of being fearfully or bitterly influenced by that event and instead flinging ourfull weight upon the faithfulness, wisdom and mercy of our Heavenly Father. He willalways catch us, His net is WIDE. Our child like faith in Him is like an irresistiblepressure put on Father to catch us. And He always does.. we land on His minutely,personally tailored and prepared place of resurrection life and growth for each oneof us.

HEARING A PROMISE THROUGH THE WORD PUN

• I don't know if it's because I'm over 60, but lately, I keep being reminded of Ps.23. The hundreds and hundreds of "ache-ers" have been made to lie down in greenpastures. God wants to heal us so we can get back in the game.

• You don't kick a basketball with your knees ... but if you kneel on your knees youmay see that the fields (hundreds and hundreds of acres) are ripe for the harvest.But where oh where are the labourers?

• He will strengthen the hands, and the feeble knees, he will heal the faintheartedand speak His word over them Fear not for I AM with you, be not dismayed for I AMthe Lord your God, I will strengthen you I will help you and I will up hold you withMy righteous right hand. Isa 41:10

HEARING MISC INTERPRETATIONS TO THE WORD PUN

There has been a foul. Go get the ball and play by the rules of the game.

Be careful not to mix the game types. Stay single focused on what has been givenand don't go into areas where you have not been called.

Scripture: Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They areplans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (NLT)

What's wrong with it? Nothing!! Because Gods power does not make sense to manand the accuser does not want us to tap into it, what "knees" will be able to do willlook all wrong. And a basketball belongs on an enclosed court and in a basket.

God is going to use ordinary things in a vast way and they will look out of place.Those weak places our knees will suddenly be strong! (amen!) but we will have todo something that seems out of line as an act of faith demonstrating His power.

I believe there are those of us, myself included who have not seen the miraclesbecause our rational minds have told us "knees don't kick balls" "basketballsbelong on the court."

Whoever kicked that ball has really strong knees from being on them a lot! Herprayers land in a place already prepared for them.. a nicely mowed field! )

Our interpretations as a corporate body are totally dependent upon how the Lord isworking within us and our outlook on life. This is really a good example of how theHoly Spirit works separately with each one of us and yet combines us as wholeentity.

Really the best interpretation would be given by the person receiving thatrevelation and how it impacts them. God will give you (the person receiving thevision or picture) what you need to understand it!!

We need God. Even if our hands and knees, our service and prayers, are too tired toget it right; if we served, when we should have prayed or prayed when we shouldhave served; if we prayed wrong or failed to pray; even if we were in the wrongfield or game, God comes not to condemn, but to meet our need for rescue from theaccuser. God redeems us with great care.

He gets us and our efforts to the right place that he has carefully prepared. He doesso by trimming us like the lawn, so in spite of the 100’s of aches inside and 100’s of"acher’s" (complainers and demonic temptations to give into bitterness) around us,be encouraged that He uses it all for good. While we don’t have to pretend thatthings are Ok when they are not, we don’t have to stay focused on the wrongs done(whether done by others, by demonic, or by ourselves). While the demonic arrangeproblems and losses, don’t assume a problem, or even a loss, isn’t from God’s hand.We are encouraged to look to God’s face and see his heart to use it all to trim us, toprepare us, to show us what we need to allow Him to cut out of our lives, what weneed to be cut free from, what we need to fight and what we need to yield to. Wecan still count on our God to kiss the owies as needed and make things right.

Soccer ball: black and white. Black and white- good and evil... God doesn't want usto eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and pass around judgments.He was us to eat from the tree of LIFE which is His passionate LOVE and pass thatto others!

I got Ps. 23. The green pastures was peace and rest that the Lord gives, "He makesme lie down in green pastures" v2. Now v5 says "You prepare a table before me inthe presence of my enemies". I am thinking that the basketball (the defeatedenemy) was kicked by knee (prayers of His people) is now displayed in front of us.And this basketball will never distract our peace and rest but rather we will rejoiceeven more and say "We are victors, we are more than conquerors and we havetriumphed through the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ!"

COMMENTS: Nope, that word bun wasn’t a typo. I love His sense of humor in using puns!“Word bun” comes from a quickened sign I saw in 2003 when driving north for a conference. Ithink it was a fast taco place, and it had a picture of a taco on it and said, “Think outside thebun!” It was the restaurant’s comments about their competition’s hamburgers. Smile!
