This project gave the opportunity to execute an original and cre-ative idea of a hotel that will take place on a california state uni-versity, where the community and the university become one.

Throughout the process of developing many ideas, the one that came into being was one that credits the past of the community that this university stands in.

Through research of this particular community and creative planning, different activities that takes place outside and inside of this hotel was designed to bring it all together, “The quondam hotel” in other words, “what once was.”

Using autocad and sketch-up, different 3d views of the hotel suite was designed to give a better visual and understanding of how the interior of the hotel presented “The quondam hotel.”

This 3d project was inspired by an architect, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. I chose different elements from different buildings de-signed by this famous architect to create a 3d model. handcraft-ed and presented by me, this project was a success.

This 3d model was handcrafted and colored by me to represent different 3d shapes that exists. using my creativity skills, I was limited to choose only four shapes that I will create and deisgn to interlock eachother resulting in one big model.

This project consisted of a house plan that was designed by me while i had to consider a total square area limit and contain the shape of four squares. this plan was the only unique plan that was created using four squares and that provided a patio area in the middle.

“THINKING OUTSIDE THE BUCKET WITH THE DIVERSITY OF COLORS”

having the interest in colors and originality, I started this proj-ect by creating a 3d model and concept. “thinking outside the bucket with the diversity of colors.” With this concept in mind, the design of the building (picture on right) was executed with straight but also curve lines and colors.
