Preliminary RoundThe Preliminary Round will be conducted as a written test (examformat) comprising of 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Participantswill sit for an individual written test. The duration for the test is 60 minutes.

Rewards:• Certificate of Participation is provided for each participant.• The top eight (8) teams will go on to compete in the Semi-final Round.

SEMI-FINAL ROUNDSFour (4) teams from the Preliminary Round will compete in one of the semi-final rounds. This is the Buzzer Session. All groups will try to be the first to press the buzzer (light button) to answer the question. The top 2 teams with the highest score from each semi-final will then proceed to the final round.

FINAL ROUNDOnly four (4) teams will qualify to the final. The format will be the same as the semi-final.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The quiz will be conducted in ENGLISH. The questions set for this challenge will be segregated into the following categories:

a. Mathematics b. Biology c. Chemistry d. Physics

Questions MAY NOT be based on SPM/IGCSE curriculum only.

1. This competition is open to all Form 4 and Form 5 students (and its equivalent).

2. The quiz will be conducted in English.

3. Each team should consist of three (3) students, under the supervision of their teacher.

4. All team members are strictly not permitted to be in possession of any electronic device (mobile phones, cameras, PDAs, and etc.) during the competition.

5. The Judges’/Organisers’ decision in all matters relating to the competition shall be final, absolute and binding on the participants.

6. If at any time during or after the competition, a winner is found to have not complied with any of the Rules and Regulations, the Organisers reserve the right to cancel and/or recover the claimed prize at its sole discretion. In such a situation, the winning team will be disqualified and the panel of judges will determine a new winning team.

7. Members of the winning team should be available for the post-competition production, recording and publicity of the competition, such as:

a. Interview (which shall be videotape recorded) b.Taking of still photographs, audio or visual recording for promotions

and publicity purposes.

8. The Organisers reserve the right to vary, postpone or reschedule the dates and venues of the competition or extend the competition period at their sole discretion.

9. By participating in this competition, the contestants agree to and shall ensure that all team members, chaperones and their respective institution’s authorities agree to be bound by the competition’s Rules and Regulations and all decisions made by the Organisers.
