T he Festive season is

upon us once more.

‘Tis the season to

be jolly… and more

importantly ‘tis the season to

select your seasonal sweater!

Ever since dishy Mark Darcy

aka Colin Firth, sported that

infamous Rudolf roll-neck

in Bridget Jones's Diary – and

then a snowman sweater

in round two – Christmas

jumpers have been embraced

as a somewhat an iconic

element of the season.

From our favourite novelty

knits to classic cardys and

from chic cashmere to jolly

jumpers, we must admit they

offer a good excuse to stay

cosy and comfy as opposed to

dressy and chilly this month.

To add some festive cheer,

we have handpicked some

suitably log-fire-friendly styles

to help you on your way to

feeling especially Christmassy!

When it comes to perusing

the best Christmas knits,

high-street heroes are where

it’s at, and they do it so well.

What would Christmas be

without the obligatory novelty

jumper? The high street isn’t

afraid to go big and bold

this year, from snowballs to

Santa, penguins to puddings,

reindeer to elves…the cheerful

choices are endless. We love

traditional red. New Look

sings a merry tune with their

‘Sleigh Bells Bling’ slogan

sweater, a steal at £24.99.

Why not work your street

style and adorn your own

understated jumper with

giant, oversized snowball

pom-poms. If you don’t

want to go full throttle

Christmas-crazy then

tone your outfit down by

popping a crisp white shirt

underneath and wear with

your favourite skinny jeans.

If you’re not one for novelty,

perhaps a little luxe is more

up your snow-covered street?

Beading, bling, sequence

and sparkle offer a spot of

glamour and glitz, while not

taking you out of the jovial

jumper realm. For a serious

Christmas jumper investment,

check out this sequin sweater

by J.Crew… surely it can

be worn all year round?

Whichever festive

fancy catches your eye,

enjoy wearing your joy

on your sleeve and have

a Merry Christmas.

The quirky Studio Souk, Castle Lane, Belfast, launched its fabulous Christmas Makers’ Market recently, as Belfast’s top bloggers and shoppers were invited to get ready for the festive period

ahead, by celebrating local creativity and design. The seasonal event saw a wide selection of the Souk’s ninety creatives and residents showcasing their work and demonstrating crafts and skills on site, as ceramacist Stephen Farnam fired pottery, while others were weaving, carving, sewing, stitching and painting, among other crafts. The Souk proved the perfect place for guests to start their Christmas shopping, as they picked up lots of unique, local gifts whilst enjoying an alternative shopping experience

THIS WEEK DR DAVID MURNAGHAN LOOKS AT MODERN DENTAL IMPLANTS AND EXPLAINS WHY THEY ARE A GOOD IDEA IF YOU WANT A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO A MISSING OR DAMAGED TOOTH.

Mouth full

When might people need a dental implant?Young people when they

suffer trauma to a tooth in

an accident like falling off a

bike, getting hit with an elbow

playing football or falling on

ice. After that we get patients

who suffered trauma 20 or

30 years ago and had a lot of

work done on the damaged

tooth but have reached the

point where it can’t be saved.

And some people simply eat

too much sugar and the tooth

dies, so it needs replacing.

Is it a serious procedure?Normally no, but it depends

on the quality and quantity of

bone in the jaw. If someone has

good bone mass they simply

take a couple of painkillers and

they’re in and out in one day.

It’s as easy as having a filling

and most patients say it’s easier

than having a tooth taken out.

However if someone has

had a tooth missing for a

while, they will have lost bone

and probably need a bone

graft. We use human bone

substitute which comes in

powder form and it acts like

Polyfilla in a wall. Imagine your

gum is the wallpaper and you

peel back the paper to see

cracks in the wall - we fill in

the bits missing and improve

the quality of the bone after

the previous infection. That

bulks out the tissues and

stretches them, which can be

more uncomfortable in the

healing process, so you need

three to five days’ worth of

painkillers. This is an added

reason to get treated early

before this becomes necessary.

How long does it take? There are further phases

before and after: a tooth

may need to be taken out

first and the area left to heal

for between six weeks and

six months, depending on

the quality of underlying

bone. After the implant is

put you need three to four

months to heal. Then an

impression of the implant is

taken and one month later

the implant is put in, so the

process can take nearly a

year and quite a few visits.

A much faster alternative is

what’s known as teeth in a

day, although this has a higher

risk of failure. A month ago I

saw someone and took out

13 teeth, put in four implants

and restored a full set of top

teeth for them in the same

Mouth full day. Afterwards the patient was

on a soft diet for two weeks

and paracetamol for a week.

Can implants go wrong? We use products from well

known global companies

BioHorizons and Nobel

Biocare, so there is no risk

of substandard materials

causing problems. There’s a

less than five per cent failure

rate with implants at Boyne

Dental, usually because of

infection or gum disease.

How much does an implant cost? The standard price is €2,000.

Tooth extractions are €90 to

€150 and temporary dentures,

for use during the time

between the extraction and

the implant, start at €300.

How long do they last?Between 90 and 95 per cent of

implants are still in place and

working after 15 years. They

have the potential to last as long

as real teeth given proper care.

How do you care for implants? The same as natural teeth – get

a check-up and professional

clean every six months, but

if you’re more susceptible to

gum disease see a hygienist

every three to four months.

Boyne Dental & Implant Clinic Patient testimonial: Barry Mullan, 34, from Derry“I am duel qualified as a dentist

and a doctor and surgery is

a big point with me - that’s

why I knew if I went to David

I could trust him and he’d

be one of the best. I had my

upper right premolar crowned

when I was younger and the

crown fractured while I was

traveling, leaving just the root.

I think I was probably more

anxious than I thought I was

going to be but I was put at

ease and the procedure was

pain free all the way through.

I went back to Boyne Dental

at separate stages for the

implant and then to have an

impression. Now you wouldn’t

know I had an implant at all.”

PAUL MEEKIN, AWARD-WINNING CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF PARTNERS HAIR & BEAUTY, BELFAST, HAS BEEN CREATING HEAD-TURNING HAIRSTYLES FOR MORE THAN 35 YEARS.

Party Hair...

Like every year,

big hair will be

dominating the

party scene this

festive season. Even women

who never usually bother with

curling tongs or hair sugar

have been known to go wild

with the sleep-in curlers and

Velcro rollers at this time of

year. I blame it on all those

Christmas cocktails! But if

your hair is naturally flatter

than a bad Christmas cracker

joke, here’s an amazing tip

for you – Schwarzkopf Osis

Upload Volume Cream. Talk

about a Christmas hair miracle!

I’ve helped women go from

flat to fabulous with it, giving

bounce and volume after just

a few drops of it on wet hair.

I’m still loving the ‘mermaid

hair’ look and I’ve had lots of

fun blending different pastel

colours in the salon, everything

from a soft candyfloss pink

to a delicate lilac. This is

something you can do on

just the ends too, if you just

want to turn heads at the

office Christmas party without

making the full commitment

to an all-over shade.

Women with short hair often

think that there’s nothing

they can do to liven up their

hair, but that’s not true. Have

you seen the trend for ‘glitter

roots’ on Instagram? It’s

exactly how it sounds – trend-

setters are adding glitter to

their partings to add a bit of

sparkle to their overall look.

I’ve seen glitter roots an inch

wide but, actually, I think a

narrow thin line of glitter on

the parting of a short hair

style looks best of all. This is a

real DIY job – just sparkles to

a bit of hair pomade or clear

gel and dab onto the roots

with a tinting brush. But be

warned, you’ll be finding bits

of glitter on your pillowcase

for weeks afterwards!

Don’t fancy looking like

the fairy on top of the tree?

Perhaps the glitter roots isn’t

for you, but that doesn’t mean

you can’t still shine. Another

top tip that I love sharing is

recommending Schwarzkopf

Osis Glamination. It’s a light,

glossy hairspray that gives an

amazing reflective shine and

I’m always using it on clients

in the salon. It’s super-light,

which means that it you’ll

still enjoy that ‘just washed’

feeling. Perfect for parties,

carol services, Christmas

day dinner, and all the way

through to New Year’s Eve!

career. Spending the early

part of her career working

both in salon & also doing

colour demonstrations for

big hair & beauty brands. In

recent years she has been

concentrating on building her

own business & is proud to

call the Dressing Room home!

Every month Emma tackles

a hair or beauty dilemma.

What foundation do you recommend for the winter?Quite often going from

summer to winter we feel

we can go for a heavier

coverage however we have to

remember that with central

heating & cold weather our

skin still needs hydration in

the winter. If your a lover

of tinted moisturiser in the

summer I don’t see why we

can’t just continue on with

this into winter! Please just

remember that the colour

that blends best mid August

is not necessarily going to

be the best colour for Our

January skin. Our colouring

changes with the seasons

& we should adjust our

foundation accordingly

to avoid the tide lines.

I however, love my make

up & don’t think there’s

ever a good time of year

for light coverage! I like a

good base all year round.

I’m in love with the Senna

lasting illusion foundation.

This is a long lasting fluid

foundation providing up to

16 hours flawless coverage

with a smooth feel & a

gorgeous vanilla scent. The

satin matte finish captures

and reflects light from fine

lines and wrinkles for a

youthful appearance. It erases

imperfections, won’t settle

into lines, and looks seamless

on my skin. Ticks all the

right boxes for foundation.

At the Dressing Room

we are also fans of the HD

extreme foundation. This is

fabulous for a full coverage

& is perfect for special

occasions ( like a night out,

wedding or a trip to tesco.

Every days special in my

eyes. ) Applied with the

T his month I took to

the road and drove

to The Beautician

in Ballyclare to

try out Lipofirm, a fabulous

fat-busting treatment to

help squeeze me in to my

Christmas party dresses. Closer

to home, I also enjoyed an

oxygen facial at Array Aestetics

in Belfast city centre.

Lipofirm Plus is Europe’s No

1 inch-loss, body-contouring

and skin-tightening system.

It is a medically-certificated

system which combines

ultrasound cavitation and

radiofrequency and which

results in fat cell destruction,

cellulite treatment and skin

tightening, so it is a very viable

alternative to liposuction for

both men and women.

I had only one treatment

and my results were good to

average for the area chosen

(my abdomen). I definitely felt

like I had more room in my

clothes afterwards, but given

the opportunity to try more

sessions, I suspect I would

have felt the dramatic results

that others have raved about.

Clinical studies have

shown that the treatment will

permanently remove fat cells

as well as tighten and firm

the skin in the area of your

choice. If used over a series of

treatments, it can dramatically

reduce cellulite as well as

give substantial inch loss.

The ‘science bit’ is referred

to as tissue retraction. The

generated heat causes

local contraction of the

collagen fibres immediately

tightening the skin to

remodel and rejuvenate the

previous effects of aging.

As a treatment, it is far

cheaper than liposuction or

surgery, it’s completely safe and

painless and unlike some laser

LIPO treatments there’s no

need to exercise or diet whilst

having a course of treatments.

The normal cost per

treatment is approx.

£100.00, however it is

recommended to complete

a full course of 8 treatments

to receive the full effects.

And while my tummy was

shrinking, I was also pumping

oxygen into my cheeks -

almost literally – at the new

Array Medi Cosmetic centre

in Belfast. Their oxygen facial,

which costs £70, left me feeling

super fresh with brightened

skin and a healthy glow.

The medi-facial is designed to

be the perfect combination of

deep cleaning and exfoliating.

We started the treatment off

with a deep cleanse and light

Spa SleuthBy Cathy Martin

Page 45: Ulster Life December 2015

BEAUTY

w w w. m y u l s t e r l i f e . c o m 4 3

Spa Sleuth

exfoliation to slough away

any dead skin cells. Then

came the oxygen treatment,

a 2-part masque that was left

on the skin for 10 minutes.

Stable oxygen used in skin care

increases cell metabolism, it

helps to cleanse the pores and

follicles from toxins giving an

instant brightening effect on

the skin, and it also helps to

kill bacteria, making it ideal

especially for those acne prone

skins. The treatment increases

the blood flow and circulation

to the treated area - preparing

skin for further treatments or

peels if you’re going for the

whole hog pre-Christmas.

But for me I just relaxed and

enjoyed a scalp massage during

the 10minute masque process.

After that, the hard work

begins, with a Cosmedix

Pomegranate peel. This is a

light, superficial epidermal peel

with no down time. The peel

contains 15% lactic acid that

stimulates cell turnover. It also

contains some of nature's most

potent antioxidants - including

pomegranate seed oil, green

algae astaxanthin and red wine

resveratrol (red wine you say?!),

which targets skin-damaging

free radicals. My peel was also

customised with Cosmedix

Vitamin C crystals to give my

skin an extra antioxidant boost,

but Eithne tells me she only

does this if she feel the client’s

skin can tolerate it. Mine could

apparently – leathery as it is

after years of sun damage!

Following the peel we

finished with a protective balm

called Rescue also from the

Cosmedix range, containing

black cherries, willow herb and

shea butter to calm the skin.

My skin was a teeny bit pink

for about an hour after the

treatment, which is normal, and

it is from the stimulation of the

products used in the treatment,

but overall it left my skin feeling

super fresh and rejuvenated.

One of my favourite beauty

products this month is the

AMAZING Smashbox BB

Water (£29) which gives a

beautiful sheer and dewy

finish on the face because

it naturally reflects light and

highlights contours, such

as the cheekbones. It helps

to perfect the complexion,

not mask your skin. Plus it is

mega-hydrating too. Result!

Also coming soon from the

primer experts at Smashbox is

the new Photo Finish Primer

Oil. Think 50% primer, 50% oil,

and 100% skin-refining power

for picture-perfect make up

every time. I am loving it!

Finally, I have been playing

around with the new Clarins

lip oils which are super rich

in active plant ingredients to

comfort and moisturise the lips

with no oiliness or stickiness.

Containing nourishing hazelnut

oil, Mirabelle and organic jojoba

oils, these lip oils envelope the

lips in a melting formula whilst

enhancing colour – perfect

for the chilly winter nights

ahead. Try them in Honey and

Raspberry colours now. (£18).

HOLISTIC APPROACH TO FACIAL PROCEDURES & TEETH AT MARTINA COLLINS CLINIC

Botox and dermal

fillers remain largely

unregulated in

the UK, but a new

dental and facial aesthetic clinic

owned by renowned dentist

Martina Collins has become

the only clinic in Belfast to

be accredited by SaveFace,

the regulatory body of safe

facial aesthetic procedures.

The clinic, which is situated

on the Lisburn Road, is the

first of its kind in Northern

Ireland, combining cosmetic

dentistry and medical facial

aesthetic procedures in a

safe, clinical environment.

Martina said: “I started

offering facial aesthetic

procedures as part of my

scope of general practice

over ten years ago, but I

saw a need for it in a safe

and clinical environment.

Despite what some might

think, facial aesthetics and

dentistry sit very well together

and, understanding the facial

anatomy as well as how our

faces age allows me to take a

holistic approach to the face.

Our aesthetics are not a side-

line, this is what we do and

what we specialise in.” The

clinic is completely niche and

dental treatments as well

as our hygienist services.

Every patient’s treatment is

bespoke and tailored to suit

their needs. As it should be.”

Martina has strived for it not

to be defined by one or the

other - skin or dental; her

passion for both is what has

made it an immediate success.

“We take a less-is-more

approach to our aesthetics

and don’t advocate the overly

‘done’ look. I see injectibles

as being very much an adjunct

to great skin – they enhance

what’s already there, because

good skincare is a basis for

everything, so we work with

medi-cosmetics brands like

Obagi to offer cosmeceuticals,

some of which are by

prescription. We are an

Obagi ambassador clinic,

and are all qualified to give

in-depth advice on skincare,

including prescription

skincare, something that

I am very proud of.

“When it comes to our dental

treatments, we offer long

term solutions for a variety of

issues which allow for a healthy

and happy patient. We try to

maintain a holistic approach to

dentistry and I would always

prefer to offer - for example -

a teeth-straightening option

over veneers if the situation

allowed. We also offer a full

range of cosmetic and general

MAKING THE ORDINARY EXTRAORDINARY

In the same year that

DKY celebrates 5 years

of business, they have

chosen to branch out

and open a brand-new salon.

Bigger, better and (if possible)

more stylish, than the DKY

of before, this is the new-

look salon with the same

client focused principles.

They have only moved

into the building next door,

but stepping into the new

reception area, you would be

mistaken for thinking you were

entering a sleek NYC boutique

salon. A lot of thought and

careful planning has gone into

every tiny detail over the past

18 months, as the DKY team

BRAND-NEW DKY HAIR COMPANY SALON OPENS IN BANGOR

has executed their vision. The

new salon boasts an impressive

17 seats – that’s 7 more than

when they first opened in 2010

and 5 more than last week!

They have also joined forces

with Nadene Winters Ashe,

owner of beYOUtifi beauty

salon, which is right above

DKY and a wonderful added

extra for clients to avail of.

On Saturday 21st November,

friends, family and clients

joined the team to celebrate

in style. They relaxed with

glasses of fizz and canapés and

enjoyed the surroundings of

the new salon. As part of the

evening, there was a fantastic

ballot to raise money for

Second Hope Charity – the

only UK charity specifically for

people living with advanced

breast cancer. The list of prizes

up for grabs was nothing short

of a hair enthusiast’s dream,

with a year’s FREE hair-care

from DKY as the top prize,

followed by endless specialist

treatments, top of the range

hair products, vouchers and

much more. Belfast author

and comedienne, Leesa

Harker, joined the evening to

represent Second Hope and

to draw the winners of the

ballot. Leesa is the creator of

the hilarious character, Maggie

Muff from her debut book,

Fifty Shades of Red, White

& Blue. The DKY crowd did

not disappoint, digging deep

and donating a total £681 for

the cause. Northern Ireland

representative for the charity,

Mel Kennedy, explained

that the money raised will

go towards a bigger project

dedicated to researching

advanced breast cancer

and potential treatments.

Michelle Young, salon owner

said “DKY Hair Company

has gone from strength

to strength over the last

5 years. We are so proud

of what we have achieved

as a team and extremely

grateful to the people of

Bangor for welcoming us into

their town so graciously

T here’s no doubt

about it, us ladies

love our brows!!

There’s no denying

the difference a good brow

shape and tint makes: it opens

our eyes, complements our

features and frames our face

beautifully. I’ve had clients

who been told they look years

younger after having their

brows properly attended to!

THIS MONTH, JUDITH MULGREW FROM SKIN MEDISPA REVEALS THE SECRET TO A PERFECTLY SHAPED BROW THAT DOESN’T FADE!

But as much as good brows

can work wonders, over-

tweezed and sparse brows

can be aging and unflattering.

For any of us who succumbed

to the 90s brow trends and

plucked our brows to the

high heavens, we know

how hard it is to achieve

the regrowth needed for

perfect brows. As I’ve gotten

a little older, I notice a huge

difference with my brows,

they don’t grow quite as well

as they used to and for years I

pencilled and powdered them

constantly to fill in the gaps!

That is, until I was

introduced to semi-permanent

makeup - since then I haven’t

looked back! Semi-permanent

make-up involves implanting

pigment into the dermal layer

of the skin - a little like a tattoo

but without the pain! It is

suitable for eyebrows, eyeliner,

lip colour and beauty spots.

The result is that perfectly

finished makeup without the

worry of the colour smudging

or wearing off throughout the

day! A favourite with celebrities

This week I

embarked on my

first class at Reform

Studios. Being

a long time fan of Pilates, I

was intrigued to learn of a

fitness studio that offered a

fresh take on the traditional

physical fitness system

developed in the early 20th

century by Joseph Pilates.

What is Reformer Pilates? In a nutshell, the method

involves practicing Pilates

exercises with the use of a

‘carriage’ – a state of the art

machine from Balanced Body®.

Slightly alien at first it takes

a little getting used to, but

with help and guidance from

instructor Yvie, the carriage

soon became comfortable.

What struck me in this first

session was how versatile this

machine was; how it enabled

the body to be challenged in

limitless ways, throughout

one continuous movement.

The 55-minute workout

addresses various elements

harmoniously: it challenges

the core, builds strength

and flexibility, and enhances

balance and coordination. I was

impressed to observe there

is a strong focus on correct

alignment and breathing

throughout, ensuring the

workout is safe and controlled.

This precision eliminates

unnecessary damage and

stress to joints, unlike other

forms of resistance training.

After my first introduction

to Reformer Pilates I can say

that the workout packs a

punch, ticking the cardio box

whilst also busily burning fat

in the background! Unlike

traditional Pilates which (in

my experience) doesn’t quite

provide that ever-illusive

endorphin release, Reformer

Pilates left me pumped

and full of fresh energy.

What else?Aside from Pilates, Reform

offer the first and only Barre

studio in Northern Ireland.

The barre boutique workout

created in Yvie’s native New

Zealand, focuses on isometric

ballet movements that fire up

the muscles without tearing,

creating a lean and toned

physique. I envisage myself

morphing into a graceful and

poised ballerina! With no dance

experience required, this class

caters for all abilities and takes

inspiration from traditional ballet

techniques, whilst encompassing

the principles and postural cues

of Pilates. The music sets the

pace for a fun cardiovascular,

calorie-blasting session.

There’s more…Lastly Reform also provide

private and semi private classes

for those individuals who

prefer one-on-one training

or specialised guidance.

With an emphasis on

technique and engaging core

muscles, these sessions are

perfect for beginners right

through to advanced Pilates

gurus looking for a bit of

variety from the norm! Private

classes can be tailored to

clients who are exercising with

aliments or are recovering from

injury, ensuring every workout

suits a client’s level of fitness,

experience and needs to

maximise potential and results.

The beauty of all Reform

classes is that they adopt a

holistic approach to wellbeing –

mind, body and soul – creating

a feel good factor we could all

do with… I am already looking

forward to my next class!

Q&A

Tell us about how you ended up where you are today? From leaving school I went

straight to university and

studied at the University of

the West of Scotland for a

degree in Marketing with Event

Management, achieving an

Honours degree. 8 years ago

I moved to Northern Ireland

with my now husband, and

have one little boy who is

our world. Since graduating

I have worked in a number

of industries including,

hospitality, IT, business support

and now retail. Working with

the Richmond Centre has been

the most rewarding job to

date, giving me job satisfaction

and a varied workload

that keeps me excited and

challenged on a daily basis.

Is there a typical day and if so what might that look like?My day is anything but

typical, it differs from day to

day. One moment I could

be updating Facebook, the

next I could be organising

an event like face painting

or Santa’s arrival, to visually

merchandising an empty store,

updating a website, writing

press releases or designing

marketing collateral.

What do you enjoy most about working in Marketing?I love the variation of this

industry, every day is different,

with new challenges, new

people to meet. Retail and

marketing are every changing

with trends and technology,

every day you are learning and

gaining new experiences.

What advice would you give someone wanting to get into the marketing/retail industry?Experience is key. Having

qualifications is important,

but the practical work is

equally important, so try and

get as much experience as

you can, whether it be from

volunteering, charity work,

or internships. There is a lot

to be learnt from academic

books, but actually doing the

job reaps additional rewards.

What would you do if you won the lottery?I would sell up and move to

a tropical island, where it is

always sunny. I’d have my

own pool, and probably give

a bit to charity and pay off all

my families’ debt and invest a

good bit for my son’s future. I

also would spend all my time

writing, as I am currently half

way through my first novel.

Favourite Restaurant?You can’t beat a cheeky

little Nando’s.

Drink?Rose wine.

Holiday Destination?I love going home to Scotland,

hearing the accent and

seeing all my family. But

I am a sun worshiper, so

anywhere there is sunshine

and a pool I’m happy.

3 famous dinner guests?Jared Leto. Henry Cavill

and Charlie Hunnam.

Describe yourself in 3 words?Ambitious, Honest, Creative.

In the last 40 years nearly

3 million Vauxhall Astra’s

have been sold in the

UK across 6 generations.

That’s an incredible figure and

one that points firmly at the

Astra’s appeal as an affordable,

fashionable, family car for the

modern British or Irish family.

The latest generation of the

Astra comes at an opportune

time for the Ellesmere Port

Company with hatchback

market leader VW suffering

a recent 20% decline in

Golf sales on the back of

the emission scandal that

first broke in the United

States. The perfect storm for

Vauxhall and their new Astra.

Luckily for Vauxhall they’ve

made a car that feels German

ULSTER LIFE DRIVES THE VAUXHALL ASTRA 1.6 CDTI GTC

with a sprinkle of Italian flair.

The quality of the materials

used and the ride and handling

all make for an enjoyable drive

and the car tested came on

massive 20” wheels that would

normally result in a juddering

drive on the smoothest of

surfaces. The Astra handled the

rocky B roads of NI with ease.

Inside it’s become a gadget

lover’s paradise with a huge 8

inch infotainment screen that

syncs to your smart phone

via Apple CarPlay. Really the

car becomes an extension of

the phone with everything

integrating flawlessly. Vauxhall’s

clever OnStar feature also

creates a 4G in-car hotspot as

well as connecting you to a

24/7 365 personal assistant.

Over all this is a real

contender in the premium

Hatchback arena. And

starting at just £15,240 it

offers a huge amount when

you start comparing to the

prestige badges of Audi, BMW,

VW and Mercedes. Badge

snobs had better beware.

This new 7th Generation

Astra isn’t just here to

make up the numbers.
