The KwaNobuhle Spar not onlypurchased some of these Lion brand-ed plates, but also dished-up healthymeals which were distributed to theSiyahluma Daycare Centre. This
centre is run by Yoleka Mfo who to-gether with three assistants on adaily basis takes care of about 45children up to the age of 5 years.
KwaNobuhle Spar supports feed-ing projects of ten pre-schools with-in their immediate area.
Rosedale Spar supported the FeedMe project by purchasing plateswhich they donated to Marist CareOutreach to the Poor Programme.Through this programme MaristCare provides approximately 700meals per week to residents of Blik-
kiesdorp, Mandelaville, Kwa-Nobuhle, Greenfields, Langa andJoe Slovo.
These plates will replace marga-rine, ice cream and yogurt contain-ers used by many visiting the soupkitchens as that is all that they have.

New blood and a new date bring a new erato the annual Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees gameauction, which is one of the top three wildlifeauctions in the country.
For the first ten years of the Absa KirkwoodWildsfees brought to you in 2012 in associationwith DSTV, the auction has been hosted on theSaturday.
This has been moved to the Friday of the fes-tivalweekend toaccommodate out of townbid-ders – many of whom also want to bring theirfamilies to enjoy the many attractions at theAbsa Kirkwood Wildsfees, according to auc-tion organiser Johan Swart.
“We have listened to what the industry hastold us, and moved the auction a day forward.This also helps with the movement of the gameafter it has been bought,” he says.
The auction is one of the few in the countrywhere buyers are able to see most of the prizeanimals, which are kept in bomas for the sale.
This year around 40 disease-free Addo Ele-phant National Park buffalo will go under thehammer of new blood Brandon Leer of Bran-don Leer Auction Services.
He is widely regarded as one of the best live-stock auctioneers in the country, and a spe-cialist in game sales.
Facelift for EC’sbiggest game auction
Wild Horse Motorcycle Club is one of Uitenha-ge’s newest clubs and aims to assist local char-ities whenever they can. Recently they man-aged to donate five much needed computermonitors to the Oosterland Youth Centre andanother five to Innes Primary School.
The Club last year raised an astonishingR22 150 through raffle ticket sales in support
of the Toy Run initiative. For this effort theywon the trophy for the most raffle tickets soldand would like to thank the public for support-ing them. They will soon be seen at Pick ‘n PayPenford again, raising funds for the 2012 ToyRun.

The Property Poser paneloften receives queries relat-ing to the discovery of de-fects during the course of aproperty sale or shortlythereafter.
This week a buyer tellsus that the transfer of hisproperty is still in progressbut substantial leaks in theroof have been discovered.
When the reader report-ed it, the estate agent ob-tained quotations for the re-pairs and a claim was insti-tuted with the relevantinsurer. It has subsequent-ly transpired that the insur-er will not cover the claimand it also appears that theseller will not accept thequotations.
As we have mentionedbefore, in order to find a so-lution, one has to distin-guish between latent andpatent defects, says Char-lotte Vermaak from ChasEveritt in Nelson MandelaBay.
“A patent defect is some-thing that is, or should be,identifiable upon inspec-tion of the property in a rea-sonable manner. Examplesinclude wall cracks, brokenwindows, missing tiles andso on.”
A latent defect on the oth-er hand is not apparent dur-ing an ordinary inspection
by a reasonable buyer, saysVermaak. “It includesfaults that are not immedi-ately obvious and are hid-den from view, such asdampness behind a piece offurniture.”
Vermaak says it is im-portant to remember thatthe test is objective – ittakes into account whatcould have been seen dur-ing the original inspectionof the property, not onlywhat the buyer did, in fact,see.
“A leaking roof is notsomething that would nec-essarily be visible upon in-spection, unless there is ev-idence of watermarks onthe ceilings.”
The reader has not indi-cated whether he had no-ticed any problems orasked any pertinent ques-tions during the initial in-spection, says Vermaak.
Rian du Toit from DTSAttorneys in the metro saysthe question of whether ornot the seller was aware ofthe leak also needs to beconsidered.
“Had be been aware andnot disclosed it, the pur-chaser may have a claimvarying from a reduction inthe purchase price to claim-ing for repairs. He couldpossibly even seek to cancel
the contract, if he can showthat he would not havebought the property had heknown about the defect.”
Du Toit says the Consum-er Protection Act is onlyhelpful in such a situationif the transaction falls with-in the provisions of the Act.“The Act is applicable totransactions that are con-cluded in the ordinarycourse of the seller’s busi-ness.”
For example, a developerwho builds and sells prop-erties and enters into saleagreements as part of hisdaily business dealingswould be subject to the Act,says Du Toit.
“Whereas property spec-ulators fall under the sameclassification, once-offtransactions, such as whenindividuals sell theirhomes, are not subject tothe Act.”
However, says Du Toit,the estate agent’s service isregulated by the Act even ifthe transaction is not,therefore the agent mustensure that he or she mar-kets a property responsiblyby obtaining as much infor-mation as possible from theowner.

Die hoofwedstryd, ‘n FNB ClassicClash-wedstryd, was egter glad nie ’neensydige stryd nie, met die wen-punte wat in die doodsnikkeaangeteken is.
Die Brandwag-ondersteuners hetgejuig toe ’n beweging van hul agter-lyn die eindtelling in hul guns soudraai.
Die skeidsregter het hulle egterteruggeroep nadat die bal vorentoeaangegee is, en van daar het DPgeveg om die doellyn ’n laaste keeroor te steek.

“Ek is baie trots op my alma mater.Dit is die eerste keer in vyf jaar datek weer terug is, en ek kon nie vir ’nbeter geleentheid gevra het nie,” hetHandré Moolman van Plettenberg-baai gesê. Sy ou klasmaat, Morné leRoux van Blouwaterbaai, was ookbaie in sy skik met die wedstryd seuitslae.
“Namens DP se ondersteuners-klub en oud-skoliere wil ons baie ge-luk sê aan die Tiere met hulle oor-winning en die goeie sportgees watgeheers het.
“Ons is trots op Daniel Pienaar,”het Machiel Meyer, voorsitter vandie DP ondersteunersklub gesê.

that of a 2-ball R500.Sponsors will be allowed to

had. Sy heengaan word diep be-treur,” het Elrado Jansen, sekre-taris van Gardens Rugbyklubgesê.
