Canada is seeking the views of Canadian stakeholders and the general public concerning a possible free trade agreement with Pacific Alliance. These opinions will assist in defining the interests of Canada while undergoing negotiations. Canada currently has an Associate Membership with Pacific Alliance, as well as individual FTA's with each of Pacific Alliance's four countries (Chile, Columbia, Mexico, and Peru). A free trade agreement with Pacific Alliance would be significant because it is currently the 10th largest economy in the world and helped bring in revenue of $48 billion with Canada in 2016. The Canadian Government feels that an FTA with Pacific Alliance would strengthen its links to Latin America and help create wealth, innovation, and jobs in Canada.
