DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TRAVEL ANDTOURISM Though the words Travel and Tourism are synonymised and used

interchangeably but Tourism is a wider concept and encompasses a lot morethan travel alone.

Travel implies journeys undertaken from one place to another for any purposeincluding journeys to work and as a part of employment, as a part of leisure

and to take up residence; whereas Tourism includes the journey to a destination and also the stay at a

destination outside ones usual place of residence and the activities undertakenfor leisure and recreation.

All tourism includes some travel, but not all travel is tourism .

A person may often travel for a wide variety of purposes of which tourism is onlyone.
