HELLO AND WELCOME... ... to Spring at The Electric Theatre.

We kick-start the year with our increasingly popular Jazz Café. Throughout the season we will be welcoming some fantastic jazz artists, including acclaimed singer Laura Zakian, renowned pianist and keyboard maestro Steve Lodder, multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Hastings, Tim Whitehead and his quartet Turner and the Thames, and tenor and saxophonist Jo Fooks.

As well as outstanding jazz, this season we welcome back some more familiar faces in the form of The Showstoppers with their sell-out show Showstopper! The Improvised Musical. They will be back at The Electric Theatre for TWO performances in February and May. Local chamber orchestra the Surrey Mozart Players also pay a return visit at the end of January.

The Electric Comedy Club is another much loved event and this year there will be something a little unfamiliar about it . After over a decade, it will now be hosted on a Thursday instead of the accustomed Sunday. But don’t fret, Thursdays still mean stacks of refreshingly hilarious comedy from the likes of Electric Theatre favourite Geoff Whiting and Canadian comic Dylan Rhymer.

This Spring we can’t wait to open our doors to some new faces, the first of those being Seabright Productions and their side-splitting comedy The Only Way Is Downton! With impressions from almost every current TV show, this is sure to be an evening full of laughter! BeFrank Theatre Company will perform at The Electric Theatre for the first time in February with their show Do We Do The Right Thing? Finally join us for our Spring 2015 festivals - The Electric Film Festival in January and

a week of half term fun at our February Family Festival.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Theatre soon.

‘The Only Way Is Downton’ is the sell-out Edinburgh Fringe show from impressionist Luke Kempner. This hilariously funny one man show is moulded from his YouTube hit - ‘Downstairs at Downton’, and has been described as a remarkably funny and affectionate spoof. With the Abbey in crisis, how can its infamous residents save the Dowager’s country pile from certain closure? As celebrities start to appear at Downton, cultures clash and eras hilariously collide. This February Luke is back with updated versions of his impressions from almost every current reality TV show you can name. For an evening of belly laughs, you won’t find a show better than this.

Based on the hit film of the same name, created by a dream team of award winning Broadway talent and nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical, ‘Bring It On: The Musical’ is a high flying thrill ride, where the cut-throat world of competitive cheerleading meets the fierce rivalries of high school politics and romance. Campbell is cheer royalty at Truman High School and her senior year should prove the most cheertastic. She’s been named captain of the squad, but an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her final year of high school at the neighbouring, hard knock Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the dance crew girls and, along with their headstrong and hardworking leader Danielle, manages to form a powerhouse squad. Campbell may have assembled a National Championship team, but difficult stunts don’t easily “stick”.

JAZZ CAFÉ with Jo Fooks, Tenor Sax

TUE 14 APRIL 7.30pm Tickets £12 The hard swinging, warm toned tenor and flute player, Jo Fooks, won the ‘Young Scottish Musician of the Year’ award and went on to study at the Guildhall in London and the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, before being recruited by the late Humphrey Lyttelton into his eight-piece band.

Jo was originally due to perform at the Jazz Café in June 2013 but came down with Bells Palsy which left her unable to play for 14 months. Following her recovery, we are delighted to welcome her back for the last in our Spring programme, along with renowned guitarist Dominic Ashworth, Buster Birch on drums, and Marianne

Windham on double bass.
