Having served as President of the High Point Historical Society, Inc. when the Haley House was restored and the museum was constructed in 1969, he followed Mary Lib Joyce the first president of the Society. Jim has been researching the Lost Colony for a several years and has been surprised at the amount of “new” information that has been uncovered/revealed in the past couple of years. The old expression: “what’s new is old, what’s old is new” applies here. He’ll attempt to tell us today what’s been uncov- ered by the Lost Colony Foundation and the high hopes their archaeologists have for locating those elusive colonists. In 2015, Jim spoke to Rotary about the Lost Colony attempting to answer the question of whether they were really “lost” or were they hidden on purpose? This week at Rotary, the story continues as more has been un- covered about what may have happened to these first colonists along our coast. It was A Blast! All Day Long!
