The lipThe lipThe lipThe lip FFFF 10.1010.1010.1010.10 We are in an incredible season of ministry at SWITCH! God’s hand appears to be over our ministry as
we are seeing more new faces each week and having more students develop a desire to go deeper in
their relationship with Christ. We’ve had great success with events like Mud Bowl and Blow It Up, the
launch of our mid-week SWITCH Service, the launch of our redesigned 10:30 AM Service, and the move
to go to one Connect Group hour for students. We have experienced quite a bit of change and have
seen God’s guidance every step of the way. It is such an honor to be part of God’s movement within
our ministry!
We are quickly approaching our main event for the fall: DNOW 2010, November 5-7, with speaker Ed
Newton and worship leader Jeff Maxwell. The theme for this year’s DNOW is INCARNATE. The defini-
tion of incarnate is “to embody in flesh; invest with a bodily, esp. a human, form.” Jesus was God in-
carnate and He lived in a way that mirrored His Father’s will and character. We want our students to
consider how they are to relate to others as Jesus incarnate.
As you know, relationships are absolutely vital in the life of any teenager. However, in a Facebook
world, students are often connected to a great deal of information but disconnected relationally. Stu-
dents struggle relationally because they don’t know how to do relationships away from a text message
or computer screen. We want our students to form community and accountability that has more
depth and meaning than just clicking a button and posting an update online. Incarnate is designed is
to help our students connect with God Incarnate and mirror Him in their relationships in an organic,
life on life, face to face, and Biblical way. Students will walk away with a greater understanding of how
God relates to them and how they are to relate to their friends, dates, and even you (their parents).
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Pulling off a DNOW requires a great deal of volunteers of caring adults and parents. We need host
homes, drivers, and food preparers for this weekend. If you would be willing to host a group of 5-8
students, transport students to and from the church, or make some lunches, we need you! We’ll be
recruiting over the next few weeks, but it’s so helpful for our ministry if you don’t wait for our call and
just sign up! Seriously, if you would like to serve our ministry in this capacity, please call Tracey in the
student ministry office at 901.333.3368.
REGISTER YOUR STUDENT!
The deadline to register is October 31st
and the cost is $50 (includes program, meals, and a hoodie.)
You can register through our website at www.switchmemphis.com/#/events. If you have any ques-
tions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Honored to Serve,
Jason

Switch Serve
The fall is a great time for our students to be involved in
missions and service projects. We are inviting our
students to join us for Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat
on Wed. October 6th from 6PM-7:30PM. Students will
divide up, travel to neighborhoods, and ask for canned
goods and non-perishable food items to help stock the
pantry at the TN Baptist Children’s Home and Boys
Ranch. Students are also encouraged to serve at our
annual Fall Festival on Sunday October 24th!

Life Book Saturation Week: October 11-15
We are partnering with several local churches in the Life
Book Project. This is a 5 day event where our high school
students hand out God’s Word on the campuses of
Bartlett, Bolton, and Arlington High Schools. We are
challenging every high school student that attends a
Bartlett-area school to hand out 25 copies of the Life
Book to friends that may not know Christ or be
connected to a church. The Life Books are designed for
teenagers and can be used as a conversation piece in
sharing how to have a personal relationship with Christ.
Be in prayer for our high school students as they begin
to pray and pass out the message of God’s Word to a
hurting generation. We will join in a community launch
event at Faith Baptist on Sun. night October 10 at 6pm.

ers to an orphaned girl when their
mutual best friends die in an acci-
dent. (Comedy)

The life story of Penny Chenery,
owner of the racehorse Secretariat,
who won the Triple Crown in 1973.
Red (Oct. 15) -
When his idyllic life is threatened
by a high-tech assassin, former
black-ops agent Frank Moses reas-
sembles his old team in a last ditch
effort to survive.

DiscipleNow: November 5-7
That’s right, DiscipleNow is coming to BBC! This fall,
we’ll host our very own DNow weekend where we’ll
spend the night in local homes and have teaching,
games, meals, and more at the church. Ed Newton will
be our speaker, and Jeff Maxwell will lead worship. This
event is open to 7th through 12th grade, and the cost
will be $50 (which includes a hoodie)!
