Overview

The Eurotechnology Group is the oil and gas industry’s leading independent

provider of inspection technologies, innovated threading systems and related equipment required to establish a one stop solution to the inspection, repair and

refurbishment of tubulars, drilling, completion and related equipment and

accessories.

The one stop solution is targeted generally at the drilling contractor, smaller

operating companies and service companies trying to reduce overhead and focus on their core competencies, rather than expending energies on support services

to their operations.

The one stop shop solution offers the customers the following advantages from just one source:

The customer by taking the one stop shop approach is able to leave a good part

of its operational support to one qualified service company which is in turn

allows the client to focus on what it does best.

To facilitate a fast set up of a field support services operation, Eurotechnology

has developed a containerised approach to the various inspection, threading and

drilling tool refurbishment requirement. This enables the equipment to be assembled and tested at the plant before being shipped. This also allows for the

training of personnel on the actual equipment that they will help set up and then

operate in a field environment.

While the service equipment is being manufactured and assembled ready for

shipment, the local service company would prepare the infrastructure as defined

by Eurotechnology so when the shipment(s) arrive on location the installation and commissioning times are very time efficient and the operation is made ready

to service its customers in as short a time as possible.

As the machine shop operation develops and moves to offering the customer a

more specialised service offering such as the local manufacture of products as

indicated later in this overview and the operation undertakes more specialized services such as refurbishment of pressure control and related equipment a

more permanent facility will be required to better control the environment and

protect the assets that are not designed to cope with field type operations.

NDT Level III Service

The Level III inspector qualification for the NDT industry is best in class and

when combined with experience gained from various projects and disciplines the Level III inspector becomes indispensable to establishing and supporting a

successful inspection, machining and related operation.

In addition to providing the technical support based on qualification and

experience, the Level III inspector in a field operation will arrange the different

NDT training, examination and certification of the NDT related inspectors.

EUROTECHNOLOGY GROUP offers NDT Level III services that include:

Personnel qualification services, procedure development and review, third party overview, witness and problem resolution.

Engineering& Technical Support

While the NDT Level III inspector is the technical resource for the inspection and

related services it takes a totally different discipline to support the machine shop and related services as indicated below.

To ensure adherence to the clients requirements, the different specifications and OEM certification criteria, it is very important that the machine shop and other

services are technically lead through an experience engineering function that has

external support to ensure that operation stays abreast with the latest in technology and accreditation and the customer has someone to technically

interface with.

The Engineering department would offer a full design service in-house from “concept to completion” backed up with a fully documented design package to

meet API or relevant customer standards.

The local engineering group would offer 2-D design solutions in the form of

AutoCAD from conceptual layouts to detailed machining drawings, giving the

customer the opportunity to visualize the solution to their problem prior to

manufacture.

Inspection Services

The fixed head units supplied by the Eurotechnology Group are a combination of

EMI, full length ultrasonic inspection and end area ultrasonic inspection which can be supplied as a EMI unit, EMI with an ultrasonic end area inspection unit,

The fixed head unit can be configured to include:

External Cleaning of the pipe body

Transverse and Three-dimensional Defect Detection Longitudinal / oblique

Average wall loss via EMI

Typical Size Range: 2 3/8” to 13 3/8” OD

If the EMI unit does not include ultrasonic inspection and wall thickness in the

original build, the unit can be built with a provision to retrofit this at a later date.

Whatever configuration is provided it would be beneficial to include an allowance

to incorporate the end area ultrasonic inspection for DS1 category 5.

The fixed head unit’s strength is the high rate of through put and additional

inspection capabilities it offers vs. portable type equipment current being offered

for the most part.

Most inspection is charged to the client on a per joint basis and when set up

correctly with the personnel to finish the tools joint and connections, the fixed

head unit will be able to complete on average up to four times the inspection verses using the buggy type system which is very much more manual and less

effective process limited to only transverse and wall loss inspection.

The fixed head unit with a combination of EMI and Ultrasonic inspections that

offers something that differentiates the inspection service offering well in

advance of what is currently offered via local inspection companies.

Portable Drill Pipe Inspection Systems

EUROTECHNOLOGY GROUP employs the latest state of the art real time

computerised inspection system to inspect the tube of used drill pipe and tubing at field locations.

The Dual Function unit is Advanced Real Time Inspection System based around a

portable buggy type system that includes not only transverse and three dimensional inspections but full length average wall loss.

Supporting the inspection of the drill pipe are inspection equipment for the bottom hole assembly (BHA) as well as Refacing equipment (sandpaper type) to

polish the rotary connection face should minor imperfections be present.

The Eurotechnology Group offers a full rig site inspection service including the

Machine Shop & Related Services

When establishing a oilfield machine shop it has to be considered as to what services the machine shop will provide to the end user as each facet of the

service will require specialist personnel and equipment

Repair of Tubulars

The EUROTECHNOLOGY GROUP machine shop management system is designed to operate in accordance to ISO 9001-2008, ISO 1400: 2004 and BS OHSAS

18001: 2007 along with the appropriate API standards 5CT, 6A, 7 and 16A for

example for the machining and re-cutting API rotary, casing and tubing connections and the various drilling equipment.

In addition to the API rotary connections, the machine shop will be designed

with accreditation to the tubular manufacturer’s propriety connections in mind.

Refurbishment of Rotary Tools

The machine shop would have the capability to strip down rotary equipment

such as drilling jars, shock tools and downhole motors, inspect and reassemble

the equipment

Local Manufacturing:

The move from providing machine shop services to establishing a selective local

manufacturing unit is a natural progression especially having the engineering

group already established

While additional machine tools will be required a start-up operation this would

Refurbishment of Handling Equipment and Manual Rig

Tongs

Load test for rig handling equipment can be performed to pressures from 1.3 bar (2,5 Ton/in2) -

276 bars (500 Ton/in2), SWL such tests are

carried out on:

Tongs (Hydraulic, Pneumatic or Manual)

Elevator (Single joint, Slip, Collar or

Spider)

The testing operation is monitored through a CCTV and recorded digitally as well

as on a chart and provided to the end user along with a report on the work carried out.

Shot/GRIT Blast Bay:

The Shot / GRIT Blast Unit comes with a complete re-cycling and filtration

system and is used to strip clean the drilling tools and handling equipment so they can be reassembled and re-painted them as part of the overall check and

test operation.

The Blasting systems come in a pre-containerised version or with the equipment

ready to install in a fixed structure

Spray Painting Area:

The spray paint area can either be a permanent installation or a containerised version equipped with an environmentally friendly paint booth to ensure that the

tested, repaired and manufactured equipment is sent out in an “as new”

condition

Pressure Testing

EUROTECHNOLOGY GROUP provides a wide range of pressure testing equipment for both a permanent or

containerised installation.

The equipment is designed to perform high pressure

testing Hydraulic and Hydrostatic with pressures from

2,000 Psi up to 20, 000 Psi.
