    The economic and social theory that jobs of equalvalue should entail compensation. The termComparable worth emerged following passage of the

    Civil Rights Act of 1964 and was applied to both racialand sexual discrimination. Comparable worth is thestudy finding would be used as the basis for anyfurther pay adjustment. Lexington Memorial hospitalwas suffering from the discontent concerning paylevels. So the administration agreed to launch a jobevaluation program on the basis of comparable worth.

    y Job evaluation is a practical technique, designed to enabletrained and experienced staff to judge the size of one jobrelative to others. It does not directly determine pay levels,but will establish the basis for an internal ranking of jobs.

    y The two most common methods of job evaluation thathave been used are first, whole job ranking, where jobs aretaken as a whole and ranked against each other. The secondmethod is one of awarding points for various aspects of thejob. In the points system various aspects or parts of the job

    such as education and experience required to perform thejob are assessed and a points value awarded - the higher theeducational requirements of the job the higher the pointsscored.

    The Conclusion can be derived from this debate is thatthe job evaluation program should be launched on thebasis of Comparable worth. Because in this the

    employer should paid on the basis of their abilities,skills and knowledge instead of their age, sex andother difference. It helps to remove the sexdiscrimination. Comparable worth is opening the doorto very developing business and countries also. Severalcountries and their cities welcome this policy for theirbusiness.
