Shepherd’s Message

Jacob Mar BarnabasBishop of Gurgaon

I wish all of you a blessed Christmas and a graceful New Year. Every Christmas rekindles our faith in the fact that ‘God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son’ to lead everyone to everlasting life. Amidst all the chaos of vanity, politics and confusion, we must hold on to this truth, that God still loves the world so much. Amidst all the grandeur and celebrations of worldly Christmas; and amidst all the glittering Christmas Trees and Santa Claus, we must not miss out on the person who took birth for us even when we did not ask for it. God has a dream for us. It was for this dream that He became human. He dreamt of our salvation, which He would actualize if we take up our crosses and follow the One who held the cross for us. This reminds us that every Christmas is not just about the manger, the shepherds, the wise men, the angels, the carols, the cakes, the decorations and so on. It’s about the Cross, the cross of obedience, cross of forgiveness, the cross of unconditional and infinite love and mercy. Jesus’ birth was the beginning of God’s work to make true this dream of our salvation, which was actualized on the Cross and through His resurrection. Hence may this Christmas season direct us to participate in the ultimate dream of God for each one of us. Following this, we must also persevere to work with God to realize this dream of salvation and everlasting life for all those who are yet to know Lord Jesus.

Let us all earnestly step out to build up God’s Kingdom of love and include each and every one around us through the love which God gifted us through His only Begotten son. May the love and peace of our Lord Jesus fill our hearts and touch all those whom we relate to.

With prayers and blessings of the Yaldo and Denha season,

Yours in our Lord,
