Nagpur, located at the heart of the country, has marked its presence as one of the fastest growing cities in India. With literacy rate as high as 91%, best among cities with more than 25 lac population, the city has been touted as an educational hub internationally. Surrounded by five forest reserves, Nagpur attracts wildlife tourism and has been named as the ‘Tiger Capital of India’. Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur was established by the Government of India with the objective of imparting multi-faceted management training while catering to the needs of the emerging Indian economy. IIM Nagpur started its operations from July 2015, under the mentorship and guidance of IIM Ahmedabad,one of the most renowned management institutes in India and Asia-Pacific. Currently, located within VNIT Nagpur Campus, IIM Nagpur offers an excellent on-campus learning opportunity that facilitates intensive participation and extensive teamwork through critical thinking and decision making. The Post Graduate Programme at IIM Nagpur, a two year, full-time, residential program, is mentored by IIM Ahmedabad and seeks to create potential managers and entreprenuers for a resurgent India in a dynamic global economy. We have inherited the rich program convention followed at the top B-Schools around the globe. With the ageing years, we are adding new perspectives to managerial skills, projecting the Institute’s assurance towards developing leaders with a view attuned towards fostering excellence.

Breaking the barriers of conventional teaching, introduction of virtual classroom facility along with classroom teaching has ensured seamless flow of information. This allows the Institute to source the best knowledge available offshore.

FIELD IMMERSION


IIM Nagpur distinctly captures the identity of being the first to introduce the ‘Field Immersion Module’- an innovative medium for Industry-Student Interaction.

In 4-5 weeks, the students apply their learning in real-life scenarios at MSMEs and NGOs including governmental, agricultural, environmental organizations. This aids the students to conceptualize their learning and commix it with innovations and problem-solving strategies applied by these businesses to overcome the challenges faced by them and improve their processes.

While imbibing these practices, our students in small teams perform various levels of analysis to streamline the organization's processes. The students apply their managerial skills by identifying control deficiencies, structuring standard operating procedures formulating export strategies, increasing capacity utilization and conducting market research. This program thus makes Vidarbha a direct beneficiary of the students’ expertise.
