Types of Study Abroad Programs

Exchange programs allow students to pay CMU tuition and fees and enroll directly in a partner university abroad. In exchange, CMU hosts the same number of students from our partner universities.

ExchangeEnroll through one of our approved affiliates. Some programs are integrated with local students, others are exclusively for inter-national students. Some programs include on-site support services.

Study abroad with other CMU students in courses taught by CMU faculty. Most programs run during spring break or summer. CMU tuition and program fees apply.

All internships are credit-bearing and students will work with a study abroad advisor and a faculty advisor to ensure approval. CMU only offers intern-ships through our partner organizations.
