CLASSES TEACHER IN CHARGE

Grade 1-Discipline Ms. Mitch

Grade 1- Generosity Ms. Mitch

In order to make the students’ performance in

Khan Academy get even better, the Mathematics

teachers will give a list of Khan Academy assignments

that the students, who fell short in meeting the target,

need to accomplish. While, the students who already

met their target will be given advance assignments of

Second Term skills in order to keep them active and

productive during the Semestral Break.

Achieving one’s goals entails dedication and

commitment. It requires a continuous effort to

persevere. Thus, in Khan Academy, everything can be

possible because you KHAN!

The Semestral Break of the students will

start on October 30 and the regular classes will

resume on November 14.

A letter was released today for those who

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE (P.T.C. ) AND STUDENT-LED CONFERENCE (S.L.C. ) GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS

The following guidelines are expected to be observed by all parents/guardians during Parent-

Teacher Conferences (P.T.C.s) and Student-Led Conferences (S.L.C.s). These guidelines hope to put

more order in the way conferences are done between and among students, parents, and teachers.

Everyone’s cooperation is expected so that this effective tool for home-school collaboration can be

maximized.

1. The P.T.C. and S.L.C. shall begin at exactly 8:00 a.m. and will run until 4:30 p.m.

It is the policy of the school not to release Report Cards before the scheduled date nor before 8:00

a.m. of the scheduled date. Report Cards that are not claimed on the scheduled date and time will

have to be claimed from the Registrar’s Office.

2. Conferences are held in the classroom of your child and it is facilitated by your child’s Homeroom

Adviser.

Please make sure that you know your child’s Grade Level and Section and the

name of his/her Homeroom Adviser before going to the school.

3. Report Cards shall be released following a set schedule determined by the Registrar and the Head

of Student Services and approved by the Principal. Upon arriving in school, all parents/guardians

are expected to proceed to the classroom of their child.

For 5th to 12th Grade Students, report cards shall be released after the Student-Led Conference

participated in by the student, the parent/s, and the Homeroom Adviser.

Parents will be informed of their set schedule at least a week before the schedule date of the

P.T.C. and/or S.L.C.

4. In the interest of time, each parent/guardian will be allotted a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes of

conferencing. For 5th to 12th Grade students, the first 7.5 minutes will be spent for the Student-Led

Conference while the remaining 7.5 minutes will be for the conference between the parent/s and

the Homeroom Adviser.

We encourage parents/guardians to keep the conference short but substantial by focusing on the

most important areas that need to be discussed. Homeroom Advisers will focus the conference on

your child’s strengths, areas for improvement, and the formation of resolutions that will be observed

to address gaps. Should there be a need for a longer time for conferencing, parents/guardians are

to set another appointment with the Homeroom Adviser on another date. Appointment forms shall

be made available at the Office of the Head of Student Services.

Student-Led Conferences are to be participated-in by the students, parents, and the Homeroom

Adviser. The flow of the conference is directed by the student and monitored by the Homeroom

Adviser. The parent listens to the child as he/she discusses his/her Portfolio Journey for the term

focusing on his/her strengths, area/s for improvement, challenges, and plans for the succeeding

terms.

OF THE WEEK

The Semestral Break is just around the corner. Students are already

very excited to have their vacation. However, while trying to enjoy, it is

very important to make the students productive. Here are some of the

tips on how parents can help their children to be ACTIVE during the

break.

The students may spend their Semestral Break by enjoying reading

the assigned novels in their English classes. These novels are being

discussed in the said subject. Thus, reading those novels will not only let

the students enjoy the stories and develop their reading skills, but it will

also help them perform well in their English classes. The students are also

encouraged to take the quizzes about the novels uploaded in their

MOODLE accounts. Grab a book now!

Semestral Break is also the perfect time for the students to gain

progress in their Grow the Extra Mile (G.E.M.) Projects. They may continue

honing the skills that they would like to have. In addition to that, the

students may work on the videos that they need for documentating their

progress. Be the GEM in your G.E.M. Project!

The Mathematics teachers gave the students a list of assignments or

tasks for the Khan Academy. During the Semestral Break, the students will

have almost two weeks to accomplish them. Doing so will help the

students to make their brains active during the break. Moreover, the

students who failed to meet the First Term target in Khan Academy, can

use the Semestral Break to have a better performance in Khan Academy.

Nothing is impossible because you KHAN!

The students from Grades 10-12 are highly encouraged to monitor

their INVESTAGRAM accounts. Investagram provides a training ground for

the students to practice real life investing. No one can beat a person

who knows how to save!

’ The school is inviting students to visit the library and take SRC quizzes

from November 06-13, 2017, 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Have fun in reading!

Yes! Semestral Break is definitely the time for the students to be able

to discover a new hobby. Playing an instrument, engaging themselves in

arts and cxrafts, and the like are only few of the many possible things that

they can do. Open yourself to possibilities!
