SHOW DAY BODY HAIR PROCESS: We take a pretty simple approach to show day body hair. We try to have all of hair work done at home so we onlyhave to use a couple of products on show day to bring out the natural shine. We believe that less is more when it comes to hair products.Thirty minutes beforethe show we apply a light coat of Sullivan’s Kleen Sheen. We spend more time with the blow dryer to get the hair to pop rather then adding several differentproducts. After a couple light coats of Sullivan’s Kleen Sheen and blow drying we do our final preparation before we go into the ring and apply a light coat ofSullivan’s Final Bloom over the entire body, head and neck. The entire time we are running the blow dryer on the calf to fluff/pop the hair. If we have a stub-born spot or two in the body hair we may add a light coat of Sullivan’s Prime Time Adhesive to help build a hair base.

DAILY HAIR CARE: We use Sullivan’s Kleen Sheen daily and faithfully. It repels dust and puts moisture back into the hair. After we rinse the animal everymorning we apply a medium coat of the Kleen Sheen product and blow it dry. When the calf gets where he needs some skin conditioning agents we useSullivan’s Russ Rag Oil in the hair. Rag Oil also makes the skin less dry and helps the hair have a natural bloom.

SHOW DAY AID: Sullivan’s Show Cattle Calm. We use this product to help sooth an anxious animal on show day. It is a great product to get the animal torelax and chew their cud.

SHOW DAY LEG GROOMING PROCESS: Weblow dry the leg hair throughly and work thehair up with Sullivan’s Massage Brush. We startout by using Sullivan’s Tail Adhesive. Nothingmatches the holding power of Sullivan’s Tail. Itdrys quick, clean and crisp. We then proceed tobuild the leg with Sullivan’s Ultra White Touch-Up applying several coats until desired look isaccomplished. We let that dry and set for a fewminutes. Then we apply several light coats ofSullivan’s Jet Black Touch-Up.

SHOW DAY BODY HAIR PROCESS: We use a very light coat of Sullivan’s Kleen Sheen; blow in until dry. Then we apply alight mist of Williams Electric Shave; blow that in to dry as well. At this point we run the blow dryer continuously on the ani-mal until they are ready to go to the ring. Right before we enter the ring we apply a light coat of Sullivan’s Final Bloom to helpgive the body a glow. To top off the animal, we spray a heavy coat of Sullivan’s Final Bloom to the head.

DAILY HAIR CARE: We use a mixture of Sullivan’s Kleen Sheen and Sullivan’s Russ’s Rag Oil. We put five ounces of Rag Oilto a quart of Sullivan’s Kleen Sheen. I am a big supporter of this product. We use it daily. We only soap once a week, but wedo use Sullivan’s Revive on the body of the animal to help with the dry, scaly skin and hair. In the summer time when we areworking on shorter haired animals, we use the Roto Brush practice religiously. In the winter time when the hair is longer weuse the Sullivan’s Massage Brush.

SHOW DAY LEG GROOMING PROCESS: Our first step on the short hairedones we will use the Sullivan’s Roto Brush to get the leg hair up and going inthe right direction. On the long hair ones we will use a Sullivan’s Massagebrush to work threw the hair. We use Sullivan’s Prime Time to get the leg hairin place and set. Before we add any other products, we will clip the leg intoshape. Next we apply a coat of Sullivan’s Tail Adhesive to set the base and hair. Then we use Sullivan’s Ultra Touch-Up White to build the bone on the leg. After the Touch-Up is dry, we clip the structure of the leg again. After we aredone clipping and the paint and glue is throughly dried, we add a little moreSullivan’s Tail Adhesive. We let that coat dry as well. Then we add our biggestbase with Sullivan’s Ultra-White Touch-Up. Let that layer fully dry. Next we goto Sullivan’s Brown Touch-Up paint to return the leg to black. Let that dry, thenwe add another coat of Sullivan’s Black Touch-Up. We make sure we let the legdry for a few minutes and our final step is to add Sullivan’s Black Finisher to theleg for a natural apparence.

Favorite Brush: Sullivan’s Rice Root Brush

SHOW DAY BODY HAIR PROCESS: We start the show day by rinsing the steer and blowing him dry really good. Then we spray our mixtureof two-third’s Sullivan’s Ultra Sheen and one-third Sullivan’s Liniment Hair Stimulator on him; blow that in throughly. When we first put the steerinto the chute, we spray in Sullivan’s White Mousse over the entire body and blow in. At this time, someone is always at the blower working thebody hair. Next we apply a light coat of Sullivan’s Pink Oil over the entire body of hair and then we blow and comb in to help pop and give a freshshine to the hair. Just before we took the steer out of the chute we sprayed lightly Sullivan’s Final Bloom on head, brisket and top line. Just beforeentering the show ring, we spray another coat of Sullivan’s Pink Oil, comb in accordingly to do what we need to do to get that fresh look. We arevery picky about doing a little bit at a time in order not to over do it. We can always spray more, but can’t take it out.

DAILY HAIR CARE: We rinse and blow dry the steer every day, but only shampoo once a week. We work the entire body of hair daily with alight coat mixture of one pint of Sullivan’s Ultra Sheen with a gallon of water and blow dry. Next we apply a layer of Sullivan’s Final Bloom to helprestore the natural oils back into the hide. We will also apply a coat of Revive when we feel necessary. Everyday we spend time using Sullivan’sRoto Brush over the entire hair coat of the animal, including the legs. This is to massage and stimulate the hair to help promote growth. I also liketo use Sullivan’s Red Stimulator Fluffer Comb. I feel this is a great product that helps stimulate hair growth.

SHOW DAY LEG GROOMING PROCESS: First thing wedo is to blow out the legs really well then break loose thehair with a Sullivan’s Stimulator Fluffer Comb. Then weapply a light coat of Sullivan’s Tail Adhesive; just enough toset the leg hair. We make sure to let that set and dry. Nextwe clip off the long ends just enough to rough the leg out.Now we add a heavier coat of Sullivan’s Tail Adhesive tothe leg. At Fort Worth we are not allowed to paint legs sowe have to be careful how much adhesive we applied.Luckily we had a smokey steer and could apply more TailAdhesive to build the leg and still not have to paint. Oncethis application is dried we clip the leg out for a final time. Finally we add a last coat of Sullivan’s Tail Adhesive to addsubstance. Let that dry and do a few final touches with theclippers.

SHOW DAY BODY HAIR PROCESS: The process varies from a winter steer to a summer steer. In the Summer we usually use Styling Mousse on thetinner haired animal to give the hair more substance and thicker base. In the winter time, and what we did on Ricky Bobby, we use a coat of Kleen Sheenblown in for a fresh look. Next, we spray a light coat of oil over the entire animal and blow dry some more. To freshen-up the hair before we go into thering, we add another light coat of Kleen Sheen.

DAILY HAIR CARE: In the summer time we rinse three times a day and use Roto Brush each time. We are pretty dedicated to this practice the entiresummer. For a winter time show we rinse once a day, usually when I get home from school. With the winter time hair I Roto Brush the legs and use acombination of the Synthetic Rice Root Brush and Red Stimulator Fluffer Comb on the body. We use Kleen Sheen every day. If we get raw skin or dryhair we will use Russ Rag Oil mixed with Kleen Sheen and try to blow the product down to the root of the hair. If we have a bad dandruff problem, wewill also add some vinegar to the Rag Oil/Kleen Sheen mix.

BOB SAYS: In showing livestock we take nothing for granted and are thanful for the win. We realize as a family we may never have this opportunity again.

SHOW DAY LEG GROOMING PROCESS: We blow outthe legs really well and use the Roto Brush to get the hairstanding as much as possible. I usually start withSullivan’s Tail Adhesive on the winter time, thickerhaired cattle. In the summer, I will start with Primetime.I spray a light coat of adhesive to get the hair set inplace. I let it dry. I usually try to seperate it a little with aFluffer Comb. Then I will clip the leg. Next I spray on alayer of Ultra White Touch-Up to build more bone to theleg. After that drys I spray another light coat of TailAdhesive to set the leg. I cover the leg with a light coatof Brown Touch-up. Then I cover that will Jet Black. Thelast application is to spray Black Finisher for a darkerblack and more shine.

SHOW DAY LEG BREAK-DOWN: If we are going to fitagain the next day, we us Hocus Pocus, but if we are only fit-ting once at the show we will use EZ-All It’s Gone.
