The Hospice’s 2nd Chef, Theresa Martin, brought a real taste of summer to the Day Hospice with her seasonal food demonstration.

The menu included summer fruits punch, pear and cheese walnut tart, smoked haddock paté with melba toast, strawberry soup and rounded off with tempting chocolate and beetroot cake, creating a mouth-watering array of picnic treats.

Theresa also wowed her audience with amusing and surprising strawberry facts during the fun afternoon.

For the last six months Theresa has also been helping fellow catering staff Ryan and Danny, taking them under her wing so they can develop their skills and expand their culinary repertoire.

Ryan has been focusing on puddings and has been making all manner of delicious desserts such as meringues, and

week! To date 1,300 entries have been purchased which is helping St Wilfrid’s Hospice to continue serving our local community whilst giving players a great chance of winning a top prize!

And, to get you in the Christmas spirit why not take part in this year’s Santa Sprint & Stroll and don’t forget that you can start ordering your Christmas cards – full details in the leaflet enclosed.

I do hope you enjoy reading this Autumn edition much of which has been written by former journalist, Clare Hawkin who has recently joined the team.

Wishing you all the best as the festive season approaches.

As much of our conversation revolves around the weather I thought that might be the best place to start!

Once again, and despite daily severe weather warnings and flooding in the week leading up to our Silver Moonlight Walk, the event still went ahead as planned. Although numbers were down this year spirits were high as the Littlehampton Academy Steel Band drummed up enthusiasm in all our participants prior to the walk.

And what can I say about Hike in Heels – a real bevy of beauties who threw caution to the wind and raised a lot of laughs and funds for the Hospice. When it comes to outfits all our ladies were winners and the good news is that many of our ‘ladies’ have already signed up for next year’s event!

Talking of winners, you too could be one, if you enter our Grand Christmas Draw. There are three great prizes to be won with a top cash prize of £2,500 however you can only win the cash if you buy a ticket!

Or, why not sign up to the Local Hospice Lottery and be in with the chance of winning £1,500 every

St Wilfrid’s Hospice is a real social media butterfly these days! At the beginning of July we launched our very own Twitter account @STWHChi which has been received very well so far.

The aim is to spread the word of our work to even more people across the community including businesses, voluntary groups and individuals.

So tell all your friends and send us a message, and don’t forget, you can also find us on Facebook!

While football fans were revelling in the delights of Euro 2012, we’ve been scoring some goals of our own – of the fundraising kind.

As well as a 12-strong network of charity shops, St Wilfrid’s Hospice also runs a successful eBay site selling higher value and collectors’ items to raise even more funds for the Hospice.

Generous donations included 25 Subbuteo teams and accessories. Among them were some newer Manchester United and West Ham teams which were handed in to the East Wittering shop and which auctioned for between £5 and £10.

In June there was also a large auction of teams which were dated much earlier and generated interest from the UK and even Italy. Bids ranged from £6.50 to £82.78.

Since the eBay shop’s launch in January 2012, the Hospice’s retail

Be a winner and help the Hospice at the same time by taking part in the Local Hospice Lottery scheme.

In July our team of Lottery canvassers, Barbara Bartsch, Alan Vawdry, Samantha Conway and Nicolas Hodge started work visiting homes across our catchment area in West Sussex asking people to sign up to the weekly Local Hospice Lottery which was launched back in April.

The friendly team have been out in bright blue T-shirts (or fleece jackets in colder weather), featuring St Wilfrid’s and Local Hospice Lottery logos, plus

high-vis jackets. Each canvasser also carries an identificaiton badge at all times when out and about.

Both Samantha’s gran and grandad received care from St Wilfrid’s which is why she is so passionate about the cause.

“I wanted to do something that makes a difference,” she said. “Nothing is too much for the nurses – they just do anything for you.”

Since it was launched in 2009, our Hospice at Home service has grown and grown.

And to cope with increasing demand for this important service, the team is now looking to recruit extra nursing staff to cover morning and afternoon shifts.

In June an appeal was launched to raise £50,000, which was sent to 8,000 Hospice supporters.

“We have been getting busier and busier over the last three years,” says Jane Cousins, Team Leader of the Hospice at Home Team. “Last year we had an appeal to increase our bank staff so that rather than turning people away we could get in some extra staff for a few days. “We increased that last year which was successful and now this year we are hoping to take on extra trained nurses.”

The nurses serve a large geographical area (Chichester district, up to Emsworth, Bognor Regis and over to Arundel) and having extra nurses would help take the pressure off and ensure more people could receive visits. Some patients need more than one nurse to look after them, and having extra staff would also enable them to receive the very best care.

“It’s so we can meet the needs of all patients and continue to grow,” explains Jane. “With that extra trained nurse we can expand the number of patients we take on at any one time – it’s giving us extra capacity really.”

The team provides an extension to existing services at St Wilfrid’s with hands-on care and support for those who wish to be nursed at home, surrounded by their family and friends and the things they love.

Last year 204 patients received specialist palliative care from our Hospice at Home team.

During a refit of the ward office a new call system for the nurses is to be put in place.

The nurses will carry a pager device during their shift that will enable them to respond to emergencies should they arise.

This will greatly assist the staff especially if they are not within easy hearing distance of the call bell.

Each year at St Wilfrid’s staff are reminded about the importance of hand washing and infection control when attending their in-house training, which covers a variety of topics such as health and safety.

In previous years’ training the issue was demonstrated via the method of ‘wash and glow’. Staff were asked to cover their hands in a special solution, then wash it off and place their hands under ultra violet light which then showed how well the solution had been washed off – or not!

In order to change the format and make the training more interesting, this year the staff have been asked how they would promote hand washing to their colleagues and of course anyone else who comes into the Hospice including other healthcare workers and visitors.

It is a case of ‘anything goes’ as long as the message gets across the

Qualified and support nursing staff visit patients at intervals between 8am and 9.30pm and can also provide overnight visits between 10pm and 7am, seven days a week. This service is in addition to the advisory and supportive role performed by the Hospice’s Clinical Nurse Specialist Team.

The team provides respite visits day and overnight to enable carers to take a break and assist in the immediate support and care of patients who wish to be discharged from hospital or the Hospice to home and works closely with other health, social and voluntary services providers.

importance of breaking the cycle of infection.

The staff were shown two videos: one from the 1940s which although rather dated and raises a few laughs, certainly gets the message across, and another very modern one that uses a hologram nurse situated in a hospital foyer to raise awareness of infection control issues.

There is a prize up for grabs for the most attention grabbing and effective idea at the end of the year and so far the staff are very enthusiastic and coming up with some very original and imaginative concepts.

The new prospectus for our education department has just been published, detailing all courses on offer.

St Wilfrid’s takes pride in its Education Centre. Here healthcare professionals can learn from each other, share information and learn new skills to enable them to provide first class care for people with long term conditions and life-threatening conditions.

The courses include the Diploma in Higher Education and the BSc Honours in Palliative and End of Life Care, both run by the University of Winchester in collaboration with the West Sussex Centre of Health Studies. There are also a number of degree-level modules, accredited by the University of Winchester, in a wide range of aspects of palliative care including oncology care, supporting children and teens through loss and bereavement and end of life conversations and advance care planning.

Other modules include communication skills training, a creative

journal workshop and complementary therapies such as hand and foot massage, holistic palliative care for complementary therapists and a diploma in Indian head massage.

The Hospice’s education department is playing an important role in training health and social care workers across the area in effective communication skills to help support patients, relatives and carers who are in distress.

St Wilfrid’s Hospice holds a licence for the Coastal West Sussex Commissioning area to run the nationally recognised SAGE & THYME® course. It was developed by the University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust (UHSM) in 2006 in response to concerns nationally that patients, in particular those with cancer, were not always receiving basic emotional support. It was devised by a group including several Clinical Nurse Specialists in cancer care, the Hospital Chaplain and a patient. Since that initial development it is now being advocated as a course which can support distressed patients and carers in many care settings ranging from care homes to maternity wards and for patients with a variety of diseases.

The workshop focuses on helping

staff recognise the psychological needs of the patient and assess their concerns, and listen and respond in a constructive way. It is a ‘self-care’ model of support which puts the patient, relative or carer’s ideas for a solution first.

The initiative was brought to St Wilfrid’s by Head of Education, Michele Booth, using her experience working in the Hampshire area.

“We put in a successful bid and organised training for 12 local facilitators so this could be rolled out across the coastal commissioning area,” she explains. “The aim is that over time 720 health care professionals across the area will receive some additional training, including Hospice staff in 2012/13.”

“The aim is to build confidence and competence in the workforce. It’s something which can be applied to all staff including support staff such as cleaning and administrative staff to Nurses and Consultants in any healthcare setting. It’s for anyone who may come into contact with patients, their relatives or carers. Often it is the first time some people have been exposed to

communication skills training.”The course is delivered in partnership

with St Barnabas House Hospice, Worthing, The Midhurst Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Team and the End of Life Co-ordinators employed by Sussex NHS Community Trust; all these organisations now have fully-trained SAGE & THYME® facilitators. Until the end of February next year there are 14 courses and then St Wilfrid’s hopes to renew the licence and continue running the course.

Michele said it had been well-received by professionals, care staff and volunteers, here are some of their feedback comments:

“This simple and straightforward model guides me to help reduce stress levels of patients and families.”

“I feel I have really learned a new skill that can be used in many situations, not just work.”

“I’m more confident in how to talk and support my clients.”

“I am determined to actively listen to all my patients and put SAGE & THYME® into practice.”

The prospectus runs up to July 2013. CallourEducationAdministrators,CaroleBarham,on01243755830orLynneMorgan,on01243755812formoreinformation.

Last year, as part of our schools education project, we welcomed the children of Class 6H (as pictured on the front cover) to St Wilfrid’s to find out about the work we do and they spent a lovely time chatting to patients and enjoying their company.

The children’s inspiring words will form a special display during our Open Afternoon onSATURDAY13THOCTOBER and we are inviting people across the area to come along, enjoy a cup of tea and find out more about the work we do across the community.

Visitors will be able to watch a video highlighting aspects of patient care. There will be a display about the schools education project, a history and photographic exhibition about the Hospice, and an art workshop.

During the afternoon there will be the chance to take a tour of the Hospice and meet a number of staff including ward nurses, our Hospice at Home team, and find out about our professional education courses.

You’ll be able to look round our award-winning garden and watch some cookery demonstrations by Hospice Chef, Theresa Martin.

In addition you’ll be able to chat to some of our wonderful volunteers while our Chaplains, Nick Fennemore and Brenda Waters, will be on hand to talk about their role at the Hospice. You can relax with our wonderful complementary therapists and chat to staff in the fundraising and retail departments.

And like Central School you’ll also be invited to do the One Word Challenge – summing up what the Hospice means to you in just one word.

Class teacher, Louise Hurford, who was a Bank Auxiliary nurse at St Wilfrid’s for eight years described the pupils’ response to the One Word Challenge: “They felt very motivated because of the visits we’d had before as part of the

schools project. They were creative and certainly didn’t need any prompting to get any ideas.

“They really learned a lot from it, it opened their minds to what this place means and the service it provides for people. Some of them have a personal connection, their grandads or grandmas have died there or been to the Day Hospice and now they know themselves what it looks like.”

This is the second year that Hospice Care Week has taken place. Coordinated by the national organisation Help The Hospices, it’s aimed at increasing awareness about the work of Hospices across the country, and we are asking you to help spread the word about St Wilfrid’s.

The week runs from October 8 -13, and the theme is ‘BeSurprised’ as you’ll be surprised at the range of things we do.

Our Open Afternoon runs between 2pm-4.30pmonSATURDAY13THOCTOBER and we’d love to see you there.

“The activities during the week aim to get people talking about Hospice care, dispel the myths that often exist about what we do and encourage people to support their local Hospice,” explains our Chief Executive, Alison Moorey. “Our Open Afternoon is our main event during this week and following last year’s successful event we will be delighted to welcome anyone who wants to come and meet members of the Hospice team and find out about the work that we do. You will be guaranteed a warm welcome, an interesting afternoon and we aim to surprise you about the range of work that we do.” FormoreinformationcallPaulineHilton,PAtoChiefExecutiveon01243755804.

‘Phenomenal’ – just one of the brilliant words which pupils at Central CoE Junior School chose to describe St Wilfrid’s Hospice as part of a One Word Challenge ahead of national Hospice Care Week which runs from MONDAY 8TH – SATURDAY 13TH OCTOBER.

closely with staff sharing in the care of patients and their relatives, with all their anxieties, sadness and hopes amongst all who are connected to the Hospice.

Nick and Brenda are available for all people of all faiths and none, and will always contact leaders of other faiths when needed. Not everyone expresses their spirituality by the practice of a religious faith but still want to talk with the chaplains about the important things in their lives.

Nick and Brenda aim to meet the spiritual and religious needs of patients and their families in a sensitive and appropriate way; to be alongside them at difficult and challenging times, offering support, befriending, listening, offering counsel, showing concern and helping people reflect upon the situation they are in.

Patients are visited and welcomed by the Chaplains when they are admitted to the Hospice. They regularly call into the rooms and are always pleased to stop and spend time with patients. They also go out into the community and visit patients in their own homes, and work closely with our Hospice at Home team, our Clinical Nurse Specialists and Day Hospice staff.

Friday, 20th July was a very special day for St Wilfrid’s Hospice and for our first full-time Lead Chaplain, Canon Nick Fennemore. He was licensed in the Hospice Chapel by The Archdeacon of Chichester, The Venerable Douglas McKittrick. The purpose of this service was to give Nick the Bishop’s authority and recognition for the work he does in the Hospice. The Reverend Brenda Waters, who has been a Chaplain at the Hospice for many years, also took part in the service.

As the summer months draw to a close, we turn our thoughts to winter celebrations and our very special service at Chichester Cathedral. For many, the service is an occasion that helps families and friends to come together to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones past and present and to also acknowledge the loving and caring support that the Hospice teams provide during extremely difficult times.

This year, the service will take place

The Chapel plays a very important role in the life of the Hospice, and everyone can use it at any time of the day or night. It can be used as a place for peace and quiet, contemplation, meditation, reflection and prayer. There is a votive candle stand in the Chapel where candles can be lit in memory of someone or to offer a prayer on behalf of a loved one, or even yourself. The Chapel is also used for more formal Services and these are advertised around the Hospice and on the Spiritual Care Information Leaflet.

Nick hopes to develop a teaching programme later in the year so that people can be trained in pastoral and spiritual care. Once this training has been completed, and people authorised, more people can be helped with spiritual issues at the end of their lives in our wider community. Nick is also very keen to be invited to speak about his work and the role the Hospice plays within the community. All in all it is a very exciting time for St Wilfrid’s.

Despite June 2012 being the wettest month since records began, on Sunday 17th June, a perfect summers’ day arrived for Selsey Gardens Open Day.

Over 600 visitors enjoyed taking the garden trail around the town and coastline to view the 15 private gardens on display. Every garden owner was delighted to be able to share their love of gardening with enthusiastic visitors, who came from as far afield as Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Kent and Yorkshire.

The event raised £5,786.36 shared between St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Alzheimer’s Society (West Sussex) and the Manhood Wildlife and Heritage Group (MWHG).

Huge thanks to all the garden owners who kindly

Over £660 was raised for St Wilfrid’s Hospice at a fun evening in May arranged by the Lavant Valley Support Group. As in previous years, Tony Bleach masterminded the races using his special model racecourse. The track ran the length of the Lavant Memorial Hall with six wooden horses, each a foot high. Each race was sponsored, and each horse had an owner. The horses’ progress up the track was determined by the combination of throwing two die, one coloured and one numbered. There was great excitement and amusement as the horses made their way up the track, trying to avoid the pitfalls along the way!

A tasty ploughman’s supper was provided by the group.

Following our success with the Christmas card designed by Bill Philip, Arundel’s favourite photographer, Arundel Support Group is working to produce a newly designed Christmas card as well as an all-year-round Arundel greetings card designed from photographs taken by Susie Jenkins.

In May The Old House at Prinsted opened its garden to the public. On a cold and windy but, thankfully, rain-free day, over 260 visitors enjoyed the garden and cream teas, not to mention the plant sale and other stalls. Over £3,000 was raised for the Hospice and thanks are due to all those who worked so hard to make it happen and to those who attended and spent their money.

Two weeks later, Westbourne opened several gardens on a very rainy day and generously donated £2,500 of their takings to the Hospice. Thanks are due to the Organising Committee of this event and to John Reynolds for his initial liaison with them, but also those of the Southbourne Group who turned out on a horrible day to help.

Finally, The Coal Exchange pub in Emsworth raised £500 for the Hospice by holding a Beer Festival. Grateful thanks as always for their ongoing support.

Fantastic FundraisingHistory of the Shepherd’s pie lunchOn January 17th 2001 Chichester Support Group held its first Shepherd’s pie lunch in Vicars Hall. The idea of holding a fundraising lunch where the main food would be Shepherd’s pie was initially suggested by the group treasurer and was greeted with some scepticism, verging on hilarity! However it was decided to go ahead and find out whether the people of Chichester were interested. The rest, as they say, is history. Fundraising

You should have seen the look of surprise on shoppers’ faces when 57 rather buxom ‘ladies’ got off the bus in the centre of Chichester in order to wiggle their way through the city to raise funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Spurred on by friends, family and spectators, this motley crew of men in high heels teetered their way over the cobbled pavements in an effort to finish the mile-long sponsored walk through the city centre.

Around the world for St Wilfrid’s…There was a global dimension to our fantastic Moonlight Walk in June when the niece and brother of Jacqui Bourne – our Lead Nurse Inpatient Services – jetted over from America to put their best foot forward.

Once off the plane John Bourne and Katie had just a few hours to get over their jet lag before stepping out onto the streets of Chichester.

It was a real whistlestop tour for John and Katie: they didn’t have any holiday so they flew from their home in Atlanta, Georgia on the Thursday , arrived here on Friday and grabbed a few ZZZZs before completing the walk itself, then spent the following day shopping in London before returning home on Sunday – phew!

Katie, 22, and her dad, 55, decided to get involved after Katie spent a month at the Hospice as a volunteer last year. She was looking into becoming a Nurse Practitioner and wanted experience of the medical world and while here worked with the inpatient services team.

A handful of doves, a string trio and a fistful of owls were just some of the highlights of our Rainbow Revival Open Garden which was held last month. Many of our supporters came along in the afternoon to help build a beautiful rainbow of messages to loved ones, enjoy a glass of Pimm’s and chat to members of our

St Wilfrid’s Hospice’s second ‘Hike in Heels’ included a pre-hike warm-up session by Spirit FM’s Milly Luxford and saw double the number of last year’s entrants enjoying a well-deserved pie and a pint back at Chichester Rugby Club.

First prize for the most funds raised went to Mike Hall who raised just over £600 whilst the top team prize was awarded to Bognor Geezer Birds who raised more than £2,000! Many of our

volunteer gardening team. The crew, who turn up every Tuesday morning whatever the weather, have helped us to win an award two years running in the Chichester District’s Residents and Business Garden Competition. We are now eagerly awaiting the results of this year’s judging and very much hope to make it three in a row!

Sadly the weather hasn’t been kind to us this summer but our thanks must go to everyone who took part in our Open Garden Scheme – you are real troopers. Let’s hope the sun shines a bit more next year! If you are interested in opening your garden to raise funds for St Wilfrid’s please call Jillon01243755827.

Jacqui says the walk could now be a regular fixture in their diary: “The last email I had said, “We’ll see you next year!”

And closer to home a great big thank you to everyone who took part – even the weather didn’t put you off. At one time we thought it might end up as a ‘Moonlight Paddle’! Over 650 hardy souls signed up and, to date, more than £70,000 has been raised with funds still rolling in.

Another of our 25th Anniversary Patrons, Danny Mac, will be joining us for our very special celebration. Danny, who currently plays Mark “Dodger” Savage in Hollyoaks, came on board as a Patron because his mum, Jan, is a Nurse at St Wilfrid’s Hospice and therefore he understands and appreciates the hard work and dedication of the entire Hospice team.

We would be delighted if you were able to join us on this magical occasion, and would ask you to consider sponsoring the event, donating an auction or raffle prize or organising a table of 10 or 12 guests to help the Hospice to raise its target of £50,000 for the evening.

What could be a more wonderful way to help St Wilfrid’s Hospice celebrate its 25th Anniversary than by attending its prestigious Silver Ball on SATURDAY 17TH NOVEMBER?

Taking place in the beautiful setting of Goodwood House located in the stunning parkland of the Estate, the evening promises to be a very memorable occasion.

The event is being organised on our behalf by one of our supporters, Mrs Sabine Margarson, and will offer many of the Goodwood touches including impeccable service and elegant Regency surroundings.

Tickets are priced at £125 per person and will include a Champagne reception with canapés, an exquisite 3-course dinner created by Goodwood’s Head Chef, dinner entertainment, a Grand Auction of “money cannot buy” lots – including two weeks’ work experience at Hemingway Design, kindly donated by our 25th Anniversary Patrons, Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway – led by local

The Hospice stepped back in time for its first ever A Vintage Affair event in August at the Assembly Rooms, Chichester.

The event was a huge success and we hope to run it again next year.

The venue was bustling with shoppers looking for vintage gems. Staff and volunteers dressed in classic outfits from the 1940s - 1970s, while live music from Dawn’s Vintage Do, the Ray Box Quartet and the Hospice Ukulele Band brought the event to life.

The variety and quality of items on offer was fantastic while the tea room was packed with hungry shoppers who enjoyed delicious scones and Victoria

sponge washed down with a cup of tea.

And as well as giving our wonderful donations a new lease of life, the event raised funds for the Hospice.

Any remaining items will be available at our South Street shop, Chichester until the Goodwood Revival and afterwards auctioned via our eBay shop.

We would like to thank all our staff and volunteers - we couldn’t have done it without you!

Last September the Hospice ran its very first Make A Will Fortnight scheme, which gave local people the chance to have a Will written or amended while raising vital funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. The scheme raised over £18,000 for the Hospice with many local people putting their affairs in order.

Following its success St Wilfrid’s will be repeating it again this year from MONDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER to FRIDAY 5TH OCTOBER and many local solicitors are kindly donating their time and skills to the scheme. The participating solicitors will not charge a fee for writing or amending your Will but instead ask that you make a donation to St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

There are many important reasons for ensuring you have an up-to-date Will and these reasons range from ensuring that your finances are distributed as you choose, to officially recording your wishes with regards to dependent children, pets, and funeral plans.

Making a Will also allows you to remember your favourite charitable causes and last year, gifts left in Wills to St Wilfrid’s represented 38% of the Hospice’s annual income.

Please refer to the Make A Will Fortnight leaflet, which is enclosed with this newsletter, for further information and contact details for the participating solicitors. If you would like any further information, or would like a copy of our useful guide to Wills and leaving a gift to the Hospice, then please contact Michelle Sidney, Individuals Fundraising Manager, on 01243 755837.

A short while ago, Fundraiser Tina Mansfield, who lives in Felpham spied a large empty window in the centre of her village. The window fronts the business of local Funeral Director, Darren Miles and, never one to miss a trick, Tina popped in to ask Darren if the Hospice could use his window to promote the work of the Hospice. “There’s the window, do as you wish,” said Darren.

Darren, who has been in the business since the age of 21, apart from taking a year out to work on the railways, admits to being good at talking and getting to know people. He says, “Everybody I speak to has had dealings with St Wilfrid’s and I find it wrong that the Hospice is not Government funded.”

So Darren, rather than using his window to sell headstones, is now kindly supporting the Hospice in his side-line career as a window dresser! In fact he even commissioned a carved wooden owl to help promote our annual Moonlight Walk. “Everyone in the village looks out for my displays and I always know when children have looked in by the number of fingerprints on the window! It’s a great initiative – I get noticed and the display helps raise awareness of the Hospice,” says Darren.

If you are a local business person and want to let your window steal the show then please do get in touch with Fundraising on 01243 755827.

Do you have loose change lying around the house that could do with a new home and help a good cause at the same time?

Then why not call us and ask for one of our new home collection boxes?

As they say, pennies make pounds, and it could all help towards providing vital hospice services.

The handy-sized boxes now include a form so we can claim Gift Aid on your donation (the government allows us to claim 25p for every £1 donated).

Call our Fundraising team on 01243 755827.

It’s been a rock and roll year for the Hospice’s own merry ukulele players.

This year the plucky quintet (Chef, Dean Bryant, Design and Marketing Fundraiser, Tina Mansfield, former Auxiliary Nurse, Nick Cook, Auxiliary Nurse, Jackie Ruff and Volunteer, Bob Dexter) embarked on a summer tour creating a sunny atmosphere across the area despite the distinct lack of rays!

They took to the stage at the Woolstock music festival at the Woolpack Inn, Fishbourne in July.

Next stop for the skilled strummers was the Northchapel Working Steam Fair and then the Vintage Affair retail event at the end of August.

And for those that have missed the boat so far, the show’s not over - you can still catch them at our Santa Sprint & Stroll on Sunday 9th December.

Every penny counts

But I don’t need to make a Will… or do I?
