Anonymous Quotables If God is watching us, the least we can do is be entertaining.

If I look confused it's because I'm thinking.

If the opposite of pro is con, then what is the op-posite of progress?

If things get any worse, I'll have to ask you to stop helping me.

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.

If you can't learn to do it well, learn to enjoy do-ing it badly.

If you didn't get caught, did you really do it?

If you don't care where you are, then you ain't lost.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that per-son again, it was probably worth it.

If you think education is expensive, try igno-rance. If you're happy, you're successful.

In America, anybody can be president. That's one of the risks we take.

It always takes longer and costs more to fix it later.

If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably leads nowhere.

It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

WARNING! Not all churches that use the words "Catholic"

or "Roman Catholic" in their title are in communion with the Holy Father or under the jurisdiction of the local Roman Catholic bishop.

Though lawfully calling themselves "Catholic" under secular law, some of these churches have bro-ken away from the Church because of disagreements over the teaching and reforms mandated by both the First and Second Vatican Councils.

It is not lawful for Roman Catholics to receive sacraments in these Churches, and one does not ful-fill one's obligations by attending their services. Fur-thermore, the sacraments received would, in, most instances, be invalid.

Holy Trinity on Woodruff Ave. falls within this category and is not a Roman Catholic Church. If you have reason to doubt the authenticity of any other church calling itself "Catholic" please contact the Archdiocesan Catholic Center at (213) 637-7000 for verification.

Bible Question of the Week:

In our Biblical Walk through the Mass, what is the Liturgy of the Eucharist?

Last Week's Answer: In our Biblical Walk through the Mass, what is

the last segment of the Liturgy of the Word? The last segment of the Liturgy of the Word is the Prayers of the Faithful. These prayers of intercession can be traced back to St. Justin Martyr A.D. 155 when he wrote to the Roman emperor explaining the Mass. The Bible has several references to intercessory prayer. In Acts 12:1-7 the church of Jerusalem of-fered up 'earnest prayer' for St. Peter who had been imprisoned by Herod. St. Paul gave instructions to Timothy to intercede for all people in supplication, prayer and thanksgiving (1 Tm 2: 1-4). St Paul also prayed for himself and his communities and asked them to pray for his ministry (1 Thess 1:2-3,2 Cor 1:11).

In participating in these prayers, we the faithful are also fulfilling our 'priestly function'. We are a 'chosen race, a royal priesthood' (1 Pt 2:9), and a 'kingdom of priests' (Rv 1 :5-6) We respond with the heart and mind of Christ and His love for the entire human family when we pray for our needs and the needs of others .

The Wednesday night Bible study is open to all.
